I really like the pick 6/Mugen pick'em idea :)

Seems more like betting instead of having only one character represent you...so you can always keep participating

yea, it'd be very easy to participate in and only real trouble beyond the video making is keeping track of stats, which wouldn't be too hard.

So I hope people would be interested in such, let me know please if you are.

Alexziq,
In general I understand what your saying, but I tested these guys pretty good to get a collection of people all in the same spectrum. Yes there were some at the bottom of the spectrum, some at the top. But not a single one of them was unbeatable, nor were any unable to win if they got the right match up. For instance, The Thing won it all, but it would have been a different story had he faced Iron Man who had his number. There were a couple others too, but I can't remember offhand (I want to say Cable and Green Lantern in this group) In short, I did some pretty heavy testing to try and find a bulk of chars (31 were in the main tourney) that were sort of in the same realm of AI and fighting ability.

Sabaki,
It was hard enough to pull off with AI in watch mode, and now you want me to get people involved? lol No thanks :P Besides, I wouldn't wanna feed you all :D

dragonesku,
That has potential for in the future, I'll consider it. But it made me think of some ways I could breakdown the two groups:

Head to Head: IMT 4, SD 2
Ms.Marvel vs. Lobo - Lobo wins
Aquaman vs. Iron Man - Aquaman wins
Batman vs. Etrigan - Batman wins
Thing vs. Hulk (best of 3) Thing wins 2, Savage Hulk wins 1

Total Wins:
SD - 10
Savage Hulk 5
Lobo - 3
Spiderman - 1
Etrigan - 1
IMT - 11
Thing - 6
Batman - 2
Mr. Fantastic - 1
Aquaman - 1
Green Arrow - 1

Record in Close Matches
SD - 7-6
IMT - 9-3
Total Win/Loss Records
SD - 11-7
IMT - 11-6

So you see, IMT won in every category, Win/Loss, Close matches, total wins, number of different characters with wins, head to head.

But those numbers would be different if the final round of the final match of the tournament finals went in Savage Hulks direction (which was very close.) Changes would be:
Head to Head: 3-3
Total wins: SD 11, IMT 10
Close matches: SD 8-5, IMT 8-4
Total Win/Loss: SD 12-6, IMT 10-7

I should have been a statistician, lol.

I understandt what youre saying but at the same time Joker's AI isnt even in the same ballpark as Johnny DC's Martian Manhunter ( I know, I worked on creating both of them)

So that being said it's hard to say that the AI's are totally balanced. I'm shocked that Savage Hulk wasnt destroyed by Martian Manhunter.

Just so you know, all the chars were randomly slotted into the bracket, and no doubt, Joker got a bad draw. As did Cyclops and Green Lantern (especially him as he only had a couple guys that could take him down, one of which being Cable).

On that same note, Thing was lucky he did not face Iron Man, GL, or Cable, so he got a good draw and the bracket worked in his favor.

In regards to Martian Manhunter (btw, had no idea you worked on him, great job as I love that char) vs. Savage Hulk, they are pretty evenly matched. They were tested a good bit in the prep phase because I like them both alot. You might not have the tunglashor AI patch for Savage Hulk which led you to think he should have gotten smoked. I did get it.

Speaking of tunglashor, both chars in the finals had AI by him, one of which Acey mistook as being human. If those aren't glowing reports for his work, I don't know what is :)

I apologize if it has been a couple days since posting one of the last remaining fights, but for those of you that keep up with my YouTube channel, http://www.youtube.com/user/volzzilla

...I have taken on a new project in regards to recent character reviews there.

Anyway, this is semifinal #2, winner advances to face Bonobi's Colossus in the Second Chance Tourney for the opportunity to help choose a future WIP Focus article to be done.

Aquaman --- representing zvitor
Vs.
Cable --- representing Technology

And if you liked the stage, a download location is listed in the more info portion.

Finally, I please ask to not post short comments spoiling the endings. If you would like to discuss the outcomes, please use the spoiler option for the message. This is asked so as to respect those that wish to find out the results by watching to the end, as well as all the organizational work I put in to make this happen.

Thank you.

Well, the winner of this match has two big advantages, and I think he'll win this Second Chance Tournament for sure.

If the Colossus in the tournament did not have an AI patch, then I agree. But he does have one. His weakness is when he tries to do the super armor move and sits there for a bit being a target.

Whoever won the last semifinal to face him (watch video if you want to know who), both of which have a number of of ranged attacks though, thus that could play a part. Could be interesting, the brawler vs. the ranged attack guy.

This is the final match of the Second Chance Tourney, as well as for the entire Mugen Madness event.

Cable --- representing Technology
Vs.
Colossus --- representing Bonobi

Whichever character wins this final match, will win their representative the ability to help select a future WIP Focus article.

Congrats to the winner. And thank you to all the participants, as well as to those that have supported the event.

Unbelievable. It just seems like the AI reacts differently to certain characters; guess you never know what will happen. That's a good thing, too, I guess.

Been plenty of time to avoid spoiler info now...so congrats to Bonobi. Please let me know in this thread about your potential WIP candidates for the future WIP Focus article to be completed later.

If it helps, check out this link which has compiled many of the publicly known WIPS.

Sounds like a good idea for a heavyweight division down the line,  lol

In fact, if anyone else has any other good ideas for interactive contests such as this, feel free to share them here and I'll see what I can do to make it happen.

Thanks again to those that enjoyed the event, as well as to those that supported it. ::salute::

Um, how about Acey's Captain America, Kal-Elvis' Cyborg Superman, or Acey & Anvils Morph. Whichever you can get, though is fine, too.

He could do that in EOH, but he couldnt mix in non-EOH characters untill individually released.

Kal Elvis hasnt released cyborg Superman, but there is an interesting Cyber Superman out there on the indy circuit.

I think he's talking about who he wants for the WIP article he won.

Couple updates on Bonobi's request. Just set something up to have a future article with The Anvil about Morph, won't be for a little while, but thats fine.

And I should have posted this long ago but forgot until now. Anyone that is interested in having that AI patch that Savage Hulk had in the tourney, can get it here:
http://www.mediafire.com/?mnw4d2tjjdx

Tunglashor publicly released it awhile back, mid January to be more specific.

So future WIP topics from this whole event:
-Hyperion by Hyperion76 (due to coming in second in main tourney)
-Whatever Batzarro decides (since he won main tourney, he can select another topic to be worked on later as well)
-Morph by The Anvil and Acey, but Q&A with The Anvil

And if you have ideas for future interactive contests such as this, let me know here and we'll see if its doable. Previous ideas mentioned before:
-heavyweight division
-grudge match style between scruffy and imt
-predict winners sort of deal from random matches set before fighting
-and whatever you tell me ( hope there are multiple in this regard :):w00t:

That would be pretty much impossible . Since unlimited has only made one character , Deadpool

Yea, Dragonesku's original idea was to have certain IMT people and certain SD people pick among their teams chars who are in the same realm of ability and go at it. I guess take a pool of the chars from before and add to it a bit (for instance Sludge's Venom could fit in, as well as SD Silver Surfer) since they were mostly balancedish.

They pick maybe 4 guys, round robin all the SD chars vs. IMT chars, then add to it like doubles matches and 3 on 3 turn based. This would be 21 total matches.

Whoever gets the most victories overall, wins.
