i say good that mk is going to be sold. give it to someone that knows what they are doing. please i hope ea doesnt get it because they would only run it into the ground further. 2d is where mk belongs for now unless they actually make it the way it should be only 3d style. in all honesty mk vs dc is the equivalent of sonic and the black knight......both leave u going like wtf??? mk vs dc was not represented well which is why most abandoned that stuff quick. if they could actually market the game to make hardcore dc fans see the game their way they could have made mega bucks. i would have even bought it. u can just throw some characters that are popular and well known into a game and expect it to sell because batman is in their or because omg joker is too. thats the way midway thought and now they see where they failed. theres no back story that interesting enough to make the majority of the people buy this game period and in this said case story is key. i mean look at sc4 with yoda, darth vader, and the apprentice. they brought in characters from a whole other universe of gaming and gave them a story and made them fit in the game. theres not many that cant tell me when they saw yoda and played with him through his story they werent like im playin with f'in yoda. all my opinion guys

@Gaijin Wtf ru talking about mk vs dc had the first Mk story ive cared about since shaolin monks and honestly it was the best game to include dc chars ive ever played the chars really fit together and the gameplay was way tighter than deadly alliance, deception, and armageddon. sc4 ok i think its a beter game but how is "i sense disturbance in force" "i follow darth vader to another dimension and fight everybody" written in text a better story than the actual cutscenes and (omg) actual spoken words used in mk vs dc's story

I also remember that midway announced that it was about 2 or 3 months into mortal kombat 9 so how will it be sold? Maybe like that one guy said maybe we are reading it wrong..

dude i grew up with mk long before u

. i was playing that stuff in the cades in the early 90s and it was awesome. the new mk is a totally just threw together game with a new system but we all know thats not enough. mk lost its feel most definitely the moment it went 3d is was game over. if u notice what i said story is key in this situation......bring mvc in this is not a valid argument because we are talking about mk. its different than mvc in the fact that nobody really cared abou tthe story of mvc just the gameplay. with mk story and gameplay mattered just as in sf. midway tied a story up with the wrong set of characters. the game tanked because they chose the wrong set of characters which actually caused ppl to boycott the game. i never said i wanted it to die either. i just said good thing they are selling it. its good cuz they obviously dont know what they are doing anymore with their own stuff.

star wars characters i admit didnt fit the game buttttt they made them fight by force(see the pun) and now all the sc fans love the fact that they are in there. they were represented well and not overdone.
@ kratos jus because this is the first story u cared about doesnt mean anything. we are talking about the majority here not a single person. and the mass believes it was a stupid idea. thus the game tanked cuz of it. yeah u are right about the text part slightly but then again sc4 creators knew thats all they had to do to make them fit. and they have the sales to prove it right??? unlike mk vs dc where sales plummeted like the dow in the stock market because they wasted their last chance on a set of non well represented non matching characters in their already nosediving franchise. midway will be where sega is soon....they already have a nice grave dug for them too.

umm SC4 and mk vs dc have nearly identical sales numbers and to top it off SC4 has been out longer so Your right its not about the opinions of one

its the mass opinion that matters

it probably is just a rumor that they are even selling it but then again we all know how they like to cover up stuff. i remember with the dreamcast it was said that they werent gonna make anymore then they said its not true then all of sudden no more dreamcasts came out. glad i got one though

Like i said mortal kombat vs dc universe sold way better then everyone at midway thought and everyone else thought it selled really well it was a successful game. It just didnt make enough to save midway because it was too deep in debt.

See, it makes complete sense. Link was crap.

As far as the topic of Mk being sold, good I grew up playing SF2, then MK came out and although I liked the first one, they were all the same and no-one had any specific animations (or motion captures). they didn't even amend this until the last few titles. Hopefully someone will buy th eMK license and make it into a decent game at last, I mean, it has some great characters but crap gameplay. good luck to whoever takes it on, it'll be hard to make it any worse than it is.

He did he did the artwork for mk vs dc.. And a long time ago in a galaxy far far away.. How is it a long time ago when they have better technology then we do now. I mean maybe the guy who was reading it is 200 years in the future from the star wars but star wars is still way in the future of soul calibur i meant link made better sense cuz he fits in the series he look like he could of came from soul calibur.

MK1 = OMG digitalized graphics! Raiden looks like the guy from big Trouble in Little China! OMFG THERE IS BLOOD AND YOU CAN KILL PPL!

MK2 = OMFG THERE IS MOAR BLOOD AND YOU CAN KILL PPL x2 and way better with abusive combo attacks and better fatals.

MK3 = Better Fighting system with goofy fatals

UMK3 = male/female Ninjas Returns and ERMAC IS PLAYABLE!

MKT = Midways version of multiple sf2 ports, more like an early version of armageddon with the giant roster. Johnny Cage SUCKS!

MK4 = Midways first attempt at a 3-d Game. War Gods was better. Quan Chi had the best and funniest Fatal.

MK5/MKDA = OMG DRAMATIC CHANGE AND LIU KANG IS DEAD! Better Fighting system, Graphics etc but many wernt ready for the complete makeover.

@ Gangsta Jax.

MK6/MKD = Best version of the newer 3d MK games IMO, Better Fatals, Hara kiri introduced, Multi Platform levels, better story.

MK7/MKA = Rushed Compilation of the MK series, Dumb Story line, Kick @$$ intro, Better Stages new old and remade like MKD, Each character had one fighting style when they normally had two not counting the wepon mode, thats another reason why I said rushed. Did I forget to say the Story Line Was Crap!? Not to mention the horrible MKSM wanna be conquest mode.

MK8/Mk vs DC = Better Combo system, Interesting mini games during a fight, Story line was better and worked for both sides of fighters, Used the unreal engine. Not better than MKD/MK6 but Way better Than MKA, Far better. Midway's answer to their f**ked up MKA. I really think they did a good job introduction the DC characters into a fighting game.

MK Mythologies Sub-Zero

A kick @$$ game which explains the character Sub-Zeros that was introduced around the time MK4 released. Kinda basic platform engine but it was fun being able to learn about sub-zero and what took place during his time before MK1 started.

MK Shaolin Monks!

Words cant describe how awesome this game was! I like how it explains what took place after mk1 when Shang tsung was defeated all the way to the end of mk2. The co-op feature was awesome, playing through the mk2 stages in outworld as a platform was a very cool concept since MK2 will always be the best mk game in history. This game kicked much @$$. They should of did more games in this style, I think that would of helped them more.

What you expect, it was the first live movie featuring your favorite characters and to witness something like that was truly amazing at that time. Best fight scene of all time was Scropion vs Johnny Cage when Johnny got the sh*t stomped out of him by Scorpion! Pure Pwnage right there!

I liked it, better than the movies, it was like one of those Hercules/Xena series and if you seen the entire series, it explain kung lao's history with the first mortal kombat as well as how shang tsung came to be. Many didnt know he was competing in Mortal combat to save earthrelm using martial arts and was taught sorcery for the good of earth but was corrupted by Shao Khan when Khan allowed Shang to look into his soul. Anyway I found the series interesting and it was better than the second movie.

Raiden got owned on the last ep.

You know the tv and movies never follow suit to the game but still the series was interesting, at least to me.
