dude, don't you remember the box art for the US release of MM1?

When the guys at the Capcom US office heard about MM9, they felt it was totally -and it is- necessary to make box art similar to this, in homage of the game's old school roots.

It's both nostalgic and ironic.

It's especially awesome for 80's kids like me to see another cover in this style. I still have megaman 2 for nes and it looks awesome today.

I used to imagine that's how he was really supposed to look when i was playing the game back in the day before all this cutesy anime stuff.

because of the US box art in megaman 1, megaman got lowest points... so japanese capcom remake it all and clean it up... really... even in ZXA theres an item called old hero poster...

To be fair, the guy that made the us art only had 18 hours before the mass production of the US cart with no reference material to look at. Both the US and Japanese version were released within days of each other.

Even our PAL friends had their own cover art. The first one they got right, the second, not so much, which is no excuse because they had two years for each game to come up with art.
