Your Favorite 2D Fighting Game

I believe the best 2d fighting game to me is Marvel vs Capcom 2. Since they first put it on chanskat, I have been swaping the music to some of my favorite anime & video game songs.

In terms of casualness, then MvC2 takes the cake as the king. But when it comes to actual gameplay, it's too buggy. For me, SF3 is the best. (so far. I would say GG because I play it competitively, but I prefer the "traditional" style SF3 presents. The same goes for KoF)

Sf3 is one of my favorite games as well, but I usually like to take a challenge. Sf3 are really good games.

I prefer SFA3 way over SF3, maybe it's because it has all the characters from SF2 and SFA.

SF II! You still see this being played at tournaments, MVC2 isn't your traditional fighter, but it's also one of the best fighters!

Darlkstalkers and GG are great fighters, but they just can't compete with the juggernauts of fighting games, same goes for ALL Snk games! And as for a 3D fighting games go, Tekken is the king!

Super Street Fighter II Turbo/Super Street Fighter II X: Grand Master Challenge/Hyper Street Fighter II (all of those are pretty much the same game)

It's a shame Guilty Gear XX isn't on the Dreamcast so I can burn it, I love that game, I gotta go to my local aracde just to play it though! Havent played the first GG, is it anything like XX?

Hey guys can you help me find out the title of this game my cousin likes, its a king of fighters game, he said he used to play it nonstop at the aracade, he said he did killer combos with Yashiro, the reason he like dit so muc h is that when your life was low, you could unleash some kin dof crazy combo, anyone know what KOF game this is?

I think it's either '98 or '99. I don't really play that much king of fighters.

KOF '96, '97, '98 and '99 all have the desperation move system in them where if your bar gets low enough you can pull off an ultimate attack. Yashiro is in '97 and '98 so I assume you maybe looking for one of them? Those two games are very much alike. It's just '97 has more balance issues and '98 lacks story. '98 has more moves and a slightly better overall fighting system while '97, has story endings and better art. In addition to that KOF '97 took place at the peek of one of SNK's major story arc's, the Orochi Saga. I would get both but the if you gotta choose pick the one that sounds the most interesting. You should give SNK a chance you might like it.

I recommend Real Bout Fatal Fury and Samurai Showdown to start you off.

I do like snk. It's just the fact that I was real "mad" when they did neo-geo collesium for ps2.

I'd say my favorite and I think the best fighter ever is SSF2T, another favorite and my main game I play is Vampire Savior or any of the Darkstalkers games actually.
