yes we were very close
it was a year and a half old

Allow of me to offer my condolonces as well. I lost my childhood pet (a cat) a few years ago. It's very hard to loose a pet, because all of the time, care and emotions that go into it. Many who've never cared for a pet don't realy understand what it's like to loose it-- it's just as bad as loosing a human member of your family!

Take care of yourself, and know that we understand.

i know i was about to put

too but i know how it could feel i have a cat and i only had for about roughly 6 months now i cant imagine life without that cat.

We had to put my 18 year old cat to sleep last week. That was sad but he was the last of the three cats to go. I believe in bunny and kitty heaven.

I was never a fan of pets, but I lost two bitches (please to be understood as "female dogs") a long time ago. They were not really ours, they were street-dogs who always dropped by to sleep at my grandma's porch. We were the only ones who cared about them so I guess they were ours in a certain way. One of them was black with white spots and the other one was white with black spots. The black one - my favorite one - was the first to go (she had a mortal disease so there was no choice but to put her to sleep) and the white one followed some time after. It was sad but life goes on.

I'm so sorry to hear that Acey. My cat died at 15 years-- she died of kidney failure. Near the end, she couldn't stand and we had to hold her up so she'd eat. But she still had the drive to keep going, a fighter to the end. We decided to go ahead with an expensive operation to save her life, but she died right as they were about to begin the precedure...

It took me three years to finally feel like I was ready to get a new kitten. In the end, I'm glad I did though, as I feel like it helped in the healing process. I could never forget, but it was nice to have the opprotunity again to care for a pet. In the end, I so think it's worth it.
