Since there seems to be quite a few Mega Man fans, I thought I'd entertain myself by making a discussion thread.

Has anyone played ZX Advent yet?

I have ZX for the NDS but I haven't beaten it yet. I've been going crazy over the ZX mugen characters lately. At first I didn't like the Cyber Elf appearance but now I actually enjoy it.

I never played Zx nor Zx advent...they seem to look pretty similar to the Megaman Zero series design...ZX even has Omega Zero as secret boss and by beating him,you get Model OX,which is the impersonation of Omega...
The only thing i don`t like about those series is the fact that you are impersonating other characters from previous games...Besides,since when megaman platform games had a female character to be controlled?

That wasn't an act of retconning. It was just a localization error.

On topic: I have the original ZX, and I got ZX Advent as a present from my aunt in japan. ZX Advent, although pretty "old school megaman-ish," was really boring. It was just the previous ZX game with a facelift. Oh, and Model a.

Dude. You can't really compare the two. I mean sure they're both blondes that wear red, but really.
Zero is a robot that fights using lightsabers.
Char is a human that fights in gigantic mechs.

That's like saying Sonic is a rip off of Mario because most of the time you jump on your enemies to kill them. >_>
Or Robotnik is a rip off of Wily because he's a evil genius that creates robots.

That's pretty ignorant dude. colors are colors. They're just completely different characters who were created in completely different situations. Until I see Zero piloting big mechs and trying to help army forces enslave earth, or any other blonde guy that wears red I will say it's true. Blondes that wear red just seem to be a major popularity in fighting games.

ZX looks pretty fun to me, wish I had a DS..*ZX spoiler maybe* And Model A is AXL right?

Favorite series is X, loved X1, X3-X6 best.
But Megaman Zero is also my second favorite. When I played Zero 2 It was the best 3 weeks of the year and The soundtrack was Very cool, loved the rock tracks especially the remastered RMZ tracks by III. I like the original series, though never played MM4, OR MM5 just know proto was a badguy in 5. And I loved all the battlenetworks, BN3 Blue(white probably plays the same I assume) being the best imo. Haven't played Starforce, again no DS : P
I liked Command Mission, seemed interesting to see these guys in a RPG.

*Fanboy kicks in* No, Zero was originally gonna replace Rockman X in the X series, but then Inafune changed his mind and made him a different, unique character. I don't think he was really inspired by any other character except maybe  the friendship shared between Ryu and Ken (I'm making that up, but that's what it seems like..To me.). Sure his personality may be the same as other characters but every show/game has to have a "Zero".

I personally love the original series cuz that is where it all started and to me that is the real Megaman. I truly miss the feud between Megaman and Dr.Wily. It just seems like the Megaman series ended up focusing on Zero and just plain ignoring Megaman. Capcom gave up on the original series and obviously doesn't care about it anymore..* sigh * I just miss the Blue Bombers original essence and Capcom has strayed so far from that now. Although I do have an undying love for the X series as well, but anything after that just doesn't do it for me. I grew up on the original Megaman and so that is the real true Megaman to me and I also prefer the old skool gameplay. Maybe it's just me but I think Zero is cooler in the X series and seemed to have a more powerful presence and I just like his X series design better. What I wouldn't give to go up against Wily and his robots again or at least go another round against Sigma.....I guess I can always dream.

when keiji inafune was a child those days... he's favorite anime is astroboy.....
and keiji is a great artist in back days [ im not saying about this time he's works is piece of crap but its even better! ]
well being a great artist he notice that astroboy got no clothes so he copy astroboy and added some things like Rock's well...

back in NES series capcom debut whats gonna be ROCKMAN's name in the first place.... others says he's name should be RAINBOW MAN,it s*cks really.... because he's color being changed when defeating an enemy, well.... keiji decided to named him rockman....

keiji turns him into he's son.... and many more.....
megaman/rockman got so many awards.... till today because of me and other mega/rockman addicts there who always supports megaman.....

I played MMX 1(Snes)  4, 5,6,(<-- ps1) and 8(ps2) (and one of those GBA NET warriors)
I loved all of them but 8 was (I think) the hardest

It was done on porpuse in a way to give more power to the personality of each character and to tighten up the relation between some of them or set the difference between some.

Rock, Roll, Bass, Blues, all of them are related to Music although new characters don't follow that trend anymore.

Also,@Zero EX:Protoman was not a bad guy in Megaman V,that`s all i´m saying in order not to spoil the plot of the game...Get the the castle when you are about to fight him and you´ll see what i mean.

IMO nothing beats the original.
The second one comes second best for me. (I even have a deformed version of MM2 on my cell phone.  )
