What superhero deserves a movie?
« on: June 28, 2013, 09:32:12 PM »
There are lots of great superheroes out there, but many of them will remains unknown by a lot of people because they appeared only in comic books. If you could give any superhero you know a movie, who would it be? I would probably choose Dr. Strange, but what are your opinions?

Unless the director or the special effects team are on LSD, I don't know if they'll be able to pull off a Dr. Strange movie. Cuz it would need to be a total trip.

I just want sony to stop making Spider-Man films so marvel can get the rights to his movies.

That's a good point, but I think with today's technology the effects would be pretty awesome. Daredevil had a movie a while back, but it was a flop and was not well-received. He is a very underrated hero.

But I don't see what sony and Spidey's movies has to do with this.  >:-(-|

I've never really been a fan of Wonder Woman, but I think Captain Marvel and Shazam would be cool movies.

I want to say I'd like to see a Wonder Woman movie since no decent superhero movie with a main female protagonist exists, but then I'm afraid they'd just whore her up too, so maybe I'm glad it hasn't happened.  Still, I can dream.

You know, Storm really has a great story. And she has something like a goddess inside her or something like that, she deserves a movie.

Wonder Woman
This is first on my list. Wonder Woman is part of the DC "trinity". We already have more than enough Batman, we just got a good Superman movie. Now it's time for WW to have a shot at it. If they treat her mythos similar to how Thor's was treated, it should be fine. Just make sure she fights gods and monsters, not street thugs. That's Batman's job. :P

Aquaman
I LOVE the New 52 Aquaman. If they based the movie off the Throne of Atlantis storyline, and the first few issues to provide a brief origin, that would make for a large enough scale for blockbuster film.

You know, the more New 52 comics I read, the more I think those actual storylines would work well on film. I mean I just decided to start reading 52's Justice League from issue #1 and it feels almost like a pitch for a movie.

Justice League!!!!!!!!
This should just be a given. WB knows it too. It'll happen one day.

Daredevil
I saw the director's cut of Daredevil. Thought it was pretty good, for that era of super hero films. Would like to see how they'd interpret Daredevil now in this post-Dark Knight period. Now that Marvel owns him again, maybe we'll see him in the future.

I've grown a little tired of Marvel movies cause there's so many, plus I feel Marvel's in good hands and will continue to bring more characters to film as time goes on. So no worries. I mean, they're doing an Ant Man movie!

Magneto, Venom, Spider-Man 4, Silver Surfer, Gambit, Deadpool, Daredevil and even a new Punisher movie for Kicks

You, know, there are a lot, A LOT, of different articles out there about this topic. Give it a search. And what's funny is that Dr. Strange is on a lot of those lists. Personally, I'd like to see a Justice League movie, but I don't know if it's going to be good. What made Avengers awesome was that most of the members had their own movie, so you got to see the stories interact. I don't know how the Justice League thing is going to work

The Flash and his rogues. With how awesome Planet of the Apes was Gorilla Grodd as a villain could work well.

Dr. Strange, Deadpool, Wonder woman and the Flash.

I'd say booster gold but I don't think he could make a good movie somehow.

X-men age of apocalypse a trilogy of that would be so epic. :cool As far as a single superhero its a toss up between black panther and the silver surfer.

Venom would be a pretty awesome movie, because he wasn't always a villain. Since the new Spidey movie did a lot more with Flash Thompson and had nothing with the Daily Bugle, I think the second should have a lot of Daily Bugle, so we could meet Brock and he becomes Venom as a villain. Then, the third could feature Flash Thompson as Venom and then have the two team up against a more powerful villain (Dr. Doom, Blackheart?). Yeah, it didn't happen in comics, but still, I think it would be pretty cool.  :cool

And a bunch of people are talking about new X-Men movies(and I can't wait for the new Wolverine movie  :o ). I also think one with Onslaught as the villain would be amazing.

I'm hearing Wonder Woman a lot, but I really don't like heroes that are Gods/Goddesses/Aliens, or whatever. I really think superheroes should be ordinary people that have extraordinary things happen to them.

If they can't make a Justice League movie, maybe a World's Finest movie!

Good post Supa. I think Flash(Barry Allen) would make a great movie .... if they stay away from the speed force that is. I think DC movies do as well as they do if they concentrate on what they do in the comics. Which is the hero more than the powers and Barry seems like one of those characters. Only thing I think about it is that its a one shot. A sequel would not work with the flash you get too into speed force, stealing speed, doppelgangers.

I see A Flash moving panning out where Barry takes control of Central City from a few Rogues to find out that Grodd is doing something creatively fiendish (enter Nolan). Nolan would Hook all Flash rogues up lol that would be cool. His Grodd origin would be insane too..... On second thought if Nolan took on this there would be sequals.Than we would have Digger Harkness respect threads.  :w00t:

Very surprised no body  said  Black Widow, though she's only been in two films (Iron Man 2 & Avengers) , They really didn't too much go into her backstory. I think that seeing how Natasha became Black Widow would give add more to her character in the movies.

Other heroes I'd like to see get movies are Moon Knight, YoungBlood, Pit, The Max, Supreme, Cyber Force, New Warriors, Namor, Cloak & Dagger, and WildC.a.t.s :)
