Toonami 5/26/2012
« on: April 02, 2012, 03:09:57 AM »
Here some word from my fellow Deviant.

WOW! On April Fool's Toonami came back for one night in place of Adult swim. I caught a few minutes of it, but I was soo freaking confused, I switched channels. I thought it was like a commercial or something because Comcast didn't update the goddamn TV guide.

Now this morning - I googled it and they actually did a one night Toonami resurrection. Now the entire Toonami fanbase is fighting for it to make a permanent comeback.

The most bad  april fool's joke ever - and I freaking missed it because I was confused to hell and back.

EDIT: The schedule for that night was Dragonball Z, Gundam Wing, Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki, Outlaw star, Big O, Yu Yu Hakusho, Blue Submarine #6, Trigun, and Astro boy. Basically all the classic shows us Americans (and I'm guessing anyone who watched cartoon network back in the 90s) got accustomed to. It was basically the only way to watch anime back in the day if you have no clue what fansubs were. Hell - Toonami actually got me into Anime. Then Adult swim furthered that curiosity after Toonami stopped.

My fondest memories as a child were all related to Toonami. So it really pisses me off that I didn't decide to watch it because I was confused. Hopefully fans rally together and Cartoon Network listens. So that way Toonami will make a comeback.

The VO for "T.O.M"(Steve Blum) actually wants to do Toonami again as well. So he's urging the fans to spread the word.

Please do your part and use the following links to spread the word. (also go on cartoon network's website, go to programming, feedback, and mention how you want toonami to come back.

When I saw Toonami that night, I broke down in tears. I was literally staring at my childhood again. I have never enjoyed watching TV that much in my life, especially not with tears in my eyes.

If you feel that Toonami should comeback, then send your feed back to Cartoon network. Lets try to get Tom back on the air. http://www.cartoonnetwork.com/feedback/index.html Im sending my e-mail to Cartoon Network about bringing back Toonami for the Saturday Night time slot. What do you guys think of this letter?

Speaking for myself and many others who were raised on Toonami, I really feel that it should come back for the Saturday Night time slot. Bringing it back really brought back a feeling of nostalgia and it made me realize how much I missed the shows that were featured on there. Such as, Ronin Warriors, Gundam Wing, The Tenchi Series, Trigun, OutLaw Star & various other shows that dominated. Not only that but it goes without saying that you could fit your new shows into that 6-7 hour time slot such as ThunderCats, Young Justice, Ben 10 Ultimate Alien etc. Its a win/win situation. It would mean a lot to the viewers that grew up on Toonami and watched Tom change over the years of the show. From the short, chubby host he originally debuted as to the slim, athletic Tom he was when the show officially ended. I believe it would be a real treat to us who grew up on the show as well as the new anime fans that heard so many great comments about it, that you bring it back permanently. Im sure you couldn't get anything but a positive reaction from it. I would think it a travesty if it was just an April Fools joke because those who missed out heard about it and missed out on classic shows they grew up on. It is a definite demand for it to make a return and you owe it to your viewers to deliver. Im am requesting as a long time cartoon network supporter that grew up during that time, bring back Toonami, atleast for the Saturday Night time slot. Surely nothing bad can come from it.

... am I a horrible person if I say I never really cared all that much for Toonami?

I'll definitly support this if it means CN gets a boost in quality, but I never really watched Toonami in it's day.

Well I spent most of my life not actually having TV.

Well I DID watch stuff growing up (Animaniacs, Bruce Timm DC stuff, Hannah Barbara, Fox Marvel stuff, the GOOD Nick cartoons) but for most of my life, I either watched VHS recordings/DVDs or just used the internet.

So it's not that I don't like Toonami, I just never watched it

I'll be happy to see the reruns or old Animes on Toonami. I remember watching some Anime once back as a kid. I missed it. I used to love watching cartoons and now I'm tired of it.

PEOPLE WITHOUT CABLE OR INTERNATIONALS WHO WANT TO WATCH TOONAMI, Lend me your ears!

Backuptoons, the dude who got the April 1st Toonami airing on Justin.tv, Says hes continuing Toonami runs on his channel, Live and repeats!

Bookmark this page everybody:

Bookmark that as well. REMEMBER, ONLY INTERNATIONALS AND NON-CABLE PEOPLE! If you have cable, don't be a lazy bum. Watch Toonami at midnight-2am and show a network that your still faithful.

Don't like any of the new shows? Turn your TV on and let it sit on Toonami while you do something else. They have very little money guys, and ratings are the only way for them to get more so YOU can get more of what YOU want.

This, What adult swim is doing is just putting Toonami back on in place of the already Saturday night anime so not to much is going to be new, it is however a start and maybe we the fans can push it to be something bigger/everyday thing.
