Wierd problem with close attack
« on: June 10, 2011, 03:05:01 PM »
Heya everyone i've got a new character comming out soon & am in the bug phase of the project. The problem is this - The character has a close attack that works but sometimes after I use it once I can't hit the same button again to make him swing. I'll post the code for the orginal attack & the close attack. @-)

normal attack

command
(click to show/hide)

constant
(click to show/hide)

Close Attack

command
(click to show/hide)

constant
(click to show/hide)

The code looks good so...

1) There is something else in the code that is prohibiting it

2) try moving the code for the "close" version above the code for "normal" version in the CMD file.

I tried that & it was still present - I did notice that it only happened when I hit with the close attack while standing next to the edge of the screen & only if I got knocked back into a certain location - It seems like the location is in between my min & max distance to trigger the close hit. @-)

So I changed the code from
p2bodydist X <= 27
p2bodydist X >= 28

too
p2bodydist X <= 27.98
p2bodydist X >= 27.99

Now it's not getting stuck between attacks :thumbsup:
