New Video alternative to Windows Movie Maker

Hi there. I wanted to make another Mugen match movie, but WMM has been uncooperative as of late. If I wanted to split a video to keep YouTube's 10 minute limit in line, I can't do because WMM decides to freeze up whenever I get ready to save the video and I'm forced to close the application via Task Manager. I ask for your help, does anybody know a great alternative video joiner/splitter software to Windows Movie Maker please? I'm sure I'm not the only one who's having problems with WMM when it comes to Mugen videos and such, thanks you guys .

Hey Yuri. I use Any Video Converter, which allows you to do many things, including trimming and merging vids. You can read about it in the link below, which should also have the link to the site where you can download it. If you're having any problems let me know

Somehow Sabaki, I do have problems with this software. It's hard to configure it and it causes the videos when converted to be faster in length and shorter in time.

btw, Youtube now has a 15 minute time limit.

Wow, that's great, thanks for the update Acey. Now, if only I can make videos for 15 minutes without the hassle of Windows Movie Maker going crazy on me all the time. Any Video Converter doesn't work well for me, I've tried it a few times and I couldn't configure it to my liking, Sabaki.

 @ Yuri: its okay. Strange it is giving you difficulties, but it does have a lot of options, so that could be the reason. DarkValentine recommended a good video editing program, but I forgot the name. If I remember I will let you know.

I remember the program now. It's VirtualDub, and it appears to be freeware. Here's the link: http://www.virtualdub.org/

I've got the latest version, Sabaki. Now all I need is software to split the videos.

Sorry bumping this topic,

but you can use the new Windows Live Movie Maker (part of Live Essentials 2011). You can split the video using it.

Figure since this is stickied I should just add that Linux users can use a program called Openshot. Very good program for light video editing. Requires blender for 3D effects.
