CVS Vulcano Rosso

Hey guys. Since I took a break from joining the sprite contest, I began to work on spriting Vulcano Rosso of Street Fighter EX 2 Plus. This guy is one of my most favorite characters in that game. Also, I had been waiting for someone to create a Vulcano Rosso char for Mugen, but nobody participates in creating it. So, I decide to create a real V. Rosso in CVS style. Moreover, I wanna be close the original form but not too exact. Here's my process for the first frame.



Well, I can't play my Kawaks because I don't know how to run it. But I use MAME for screenshotting the frames for movements. So I get overwhelmed of/by it. The very last doesn't look complete or exact as I expect. This is just my first start.

Your sprite needs more shading. Check Marancv's CvS spriting guide in the tutorial section.  ~:>

I agree, you're off to a great start but your sprite needs a lot more shading. Here's the guide b.easy was talking about. Good luck on this. A CVS Vulcano Rosso would be amazing!

Yeah. I know I need to improve my shading and that's what I have a hard time with. I have all the tutorials with me. I guess I'll have to read it again. I'm spriting from a 3D to a CVS 2D. Spriting from 3D is quite difficult. I honestly got the tutorial from Marancv's spriting from any pic to 2D. This is where I got this from.

Yeah, it seems like you have 90% of it down actually.. You just need shading and a few more touch ups and all is good.

it's a very good start, once your done i'm sure you will be able to work on the shading or someone will help you out with it.

:o Wow!!!!! You just amazed me, Kojunho!!! Thanks a bunch! ^^(PM)^ :w00t: I dunno what to say. Thanks for adding shades. I've never done shading after converting from 3D before. Now I just learned about using shading after you showed it. I'll follow the nature and shadows of yours. :) It's hard to shade after converting from a 3D sprite.

My goal for having this guy is to be part of the CVS world. Even for Mugen and I want it to be open-source (with no permission asked).

Anyway, is there a char base for run animation of this guy? Otherwise, I really wanna sprite a running V. Rosso for his run animation from a 3D (SFEX Plus 2 & 3).

Enso, yes use Kojunho's.. add some more if you want then go from there... (You might want to fix the pant's shading though.. looks kinda like he wet himself.. lol!) but yeah.. definitely really good.
