Author Topic: Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 (Read 188628 times)

Johnz sent over a translation by CAW Evolution of a recent interview 4Gamer.net did with Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3's producer, Ryota Niitsuma. There aren't a ton of new details here, but here's a rundown regardless.

• Initially, the plan was to include 58 characters in UMvC3 in order to surpass Marvel vs. Capcom 2, but due to scheduling this was an impossibility. For those of you keeping score at home, UMvC3 will have 50 characters in it, if you include Shuma and Jill as DLC.

• The translator's impression from the article is that the higher-ups wanted this out by the end of the year (for Christmas), and Niitsuma and his team had to change their plans to accommodate this.

• Niitsuma states there will be character reveals at all major events.

• Nemesis was chosen as a big character on Capcom's side and maybe will appear in Resident Evil 6.

So let's get this straight:
Nemesis was only added to promote RE6
Hawkeye was only added to promote the Avengers movie (even though I'm personally excited he's in the game)

What was Rocket Raccoon added to promote?

Who else thinks we'll be getting those extra 8 anyway? (DLC/"Arcade Editon" like move)

Agreed with SanjiSasuke on this one. I think we'll get the other 8 as DLC, because they already said they had them planned out which could aso mean development was started on them and their character models and moves... just never got passed the halfway point.

The eight have already been "accidentily" leaked. Capcom: Nemesis, Phoenix Wright, Virgil, and Frank West. Marvel: Iron Fist, Nova, Dr. Strange, and Rocket Raccoon

I don't think it is safe to say that.

I thought it was safe to say he would be in Ultimate.

I'd like Blade the most I think. He deserves it, he's got no video game and no MUGEN character.

. Carry on. I'm personally only really hoping for 3 on the marvel side: Daredevil, Elektra and Nightcrawler.

Didn't stop Nightcrawler from appearing in Trish's ending

Although if what has been told is true that the new characters have also appeared in endings in regular MvC3, I think Kurt might be one of them.
