this game.  to me my opinion, is no where gonna be as good as mvc2.   they focused to much on tryin to fit characters to some story line which is giving them too many boundaries.   f*ck that!    instead they should have focused on makin the best fighting game ever and just gave us the damn characters we all want and been asking years for.  when i heard bout them makin mvc3 like i really thought this was gonna be THE game ya knooo....  they should have really focused on toping mvc2, even tho i kno they couldnt have as many chars, they could have atleast HEARD and just LISTENED to what we been wanting...  

im sorry but if they bring back sentinel thats jus gonna do it for me now, why would u bring back a marvel character who really isnt a individual character with a background story. and hes cheap and annoying in mvc thats what hes known for jus assisting and having great armor. god this game could be so much better its so frustrating.  sorry for the bit*hing its jus everyday i lose interest in this coulda been the greatest game ever.

I can say that I'm glad to see some Street Fighter IV representation in here, even though this means we won't get any from Alpha at this point.

Also, I heard that the outfit Storm's wearing is one of her older ones, apparently (the one seen in the X-Men arcade game, specifically).

I beg your pardon, but "making a good fighting game" and "giving us the characters want" are two entirely different things.  However, it seems like the game's biggest flaw is THAT it's giving us the characters we want... I'd say that contributes to 90% of the hate this game is getting.  I see it all the time; look at Super Smash Brothers or something.  One day, fans are spazzing out in joy because King Dedede was confirmed in.  The next day, it's confirmed that Ganondorf won't use his sword.  Cue conniption fits, riots in the street, and the same people who were celebrating a day before start screaming "RUINED FOREVER."  Or, perhaps, I could use the example of Sonic the Hedgehog, who splits the fans so much that half say "LUL SONIC IS BEAST HE KILLZ MARIO CUZ MARIO IZ GHEY" and the other half saying "WHAT GTFO SONIC IS N00B."  Obviously, both "positions" are made to sound annoying... because they are.  Really, the rational response to such a situation would be "Gee, that's interesting.  A third party character that's actually relevant to Nintendo, this should lead to some cool fights."

So that leads us to MVC3.  What are people complaining about?  MODOK, for one.  He's a fan favorite, y'know?  Just because he looks a little weird and isn't a universal favorite, people yell claims of him being a roster-filler when he's obviously one of the most unique and probably hardest-to-program characters.  Pretty much any debate over any character (Spencer, Sentinel, V. Joe, She-Hulk) follows this mold exactly.  And do you honestly think that Deadpool and Wesker would be in the game if Capcom hadn't been listening to fans?

You can't please anyone.  Capcom should know that by now, but more importantly, SO SHOULD WE.  And if this ends up being a nice, balanced fighting game with good voice acting and deep gameplay, then it is automatically many things that MvC2 isn't.  Characters come second, gameplay comes first.
