I've seen this before, Sega did this with sonic all star racing where they accidentally released an image of Sonia from sonic underground. The problem, it wasn't their art. It was from deviant art.

Lots of companies would use random images as placeholders. The only reason they think surfer isn't it is because all they saw was the placeholder image. If surfer was or was not in, they'd tell us eventually.

Is it only me or at first glance does the one on the left (Dr.Doom) look a little bit like Omega Red?

But these are 3 characters from both sides I wanna see in three that havent been in any MvC games just yet.

Capcom:Gill(SF3),Remy(Also SF3),and Kairi (SF EX series)

Marvel:Carnage,Anti Venom

and either Captain Marvel or someone from the Fantastic 4.That would be nice

They should have used Main character Sieg Wahrheit From Chaos Legion for all that...

i hope they dont have pheonix wright in it, frank west n roll is proly already gonna be in this. and theres already a damn dog in this n so far looks like he has cheap moves!? it seems like there stickin wit chars from more recent games instead of older classic capcom games. so far marvel roster is sick! capcoms not so much my opinion. besides dante n chris. but still........ Strider Jin and Commando NEED to be in this! im too impatient i wanna know!
