Animation with GIMP
« on: February 25, 2010, 06:22:14 PM »
I have made all the frames but when I hit playback it plays all the frames on top of each other, I want it to play one frame then the next and so on, not 3 on top of 2 on top of 1 like it is now.

edit the name of the layer and add " (replace) " without colons
you can also control the animation speed using (200ms) or (50ms)...

example

01(200ms)(replace)

it's important to define first the time and then replace, because it doesn't work in the other way

Thanks!

One last thing: I had a blur effect on the images before. When it is animation form it is gone, can that be fixed?

I've got the spanish version, and I don't know how the button is named on the english version, but on the animations window will be 4 buttons...

Click on the fourth one (dislodge, detach, loose... )

The Animations part for me has 5 premade things (like rippling water) then 2 optimize buttons(one for differences and one for .gif, they don't fix it), playback, and unoptimize. None of them have the blur. I used Gaussian Blur to make an effect.

I missunderstand you.

Sorry, my apologies.

If I understand you this time, you are telling me that you've got an image with a blur effect, and the blur effect dissapears when you insert the image on the animation.

If you use Control + C to copy an image on your animation, remenber that GIMP only copies form the active layer.
Is the blur effect on other layer?

If it's on other layer use combined copy, or copy visible, i don't know this command name on english.

I have a series of images in this saved as layers, they all have a part where I used Gaussian blur and when I go to playback all the frames do not have the blur effect. The blur effect is there when I look at it before animation.
