I have also the same problem like you , my anti-virus (AVG) think my 4 mugen is a trojan . i think the problem is from AVG ....

I would go to the technology section here and there are a few topics for virus protection. The two that I use are Symantec Antivirus and Spybot Search and Destroy. If you're using Windows 7, you have to get Symantec Endpoint Protection... that's the successor of Symantec Antivirus.

You're correct on that point... I strongly suggest that you remove AVG now.. My guess is that you received AVG Free from download.cnet.com... don't use it.. remove it... it seriously doesn't work and doesn't even update properly.

I got my from there.

For mugen I tried downloading from several different places and it gives me the same thing over and over again.  I think it's the AVG going gay...

Only download mugen from these links, otherwise you might get a virus.

Hmm could be a virus that someone injected into the EXE. Or it could very well be a false positive. Which is basically where a  anti virus software program thinks the behavior of a program qualifies as malicious and tags it as a virus when it actually isn't. of programs have what is called code injection. Where they inject code into certain things. Anti virus software does this as well as many other programs. So mugen could very well do it or it could just be a plain old false positive. Either way just scan your system with some of the tools in the technology section. Look for my post. But do that after removing that version of mugen. After you do all of that then download mugen from either here or from a legitimate source like random select.

EDIT: Also AVG is a horrible solution for Anti virus. It does report a lot of false positives. My advice is to go for another free solution or go for ESET Smart security. ESET  requires you to pay for it but it is worth it. it is an all in one suite of software. Anti virus, Anti spyware, Browser guard, Firewall (a really good one.) hijacker control. You name it, it's got it. I have it installed on my system and have been using it for well over a year and I love it. But keep in mind no matter how good a anti virus software is, you need more then one. So again go to the thread I posted in the technology section and download Malware bytes anti malware. Keep that on your machine and constantly scan your machine on a weekly to even daily basis. It can be a hassle but it is worth it trust me. It will help prolong the life of your machine without having to reformat every once in awhile.

It's definitely AVG. I only said download.cnet.com, because that's where I got mine a while back and I didn't like it. It was even reporting games that I play online and stuff... my current antivirus knows better not to do that (Symantec, of course)... If you're looking for a nice free one, get Spybot Search and Destroy

I'm not sure how that's possible. I have spybot search and destroy yet mine runs fine. Have you tried updating Spybot? Old definitions could be the case here. You may need new ones, because they fix quite a few things when they update. The current version is 1.6.2, but you have to manually update Spybot.

Hmm you guys should update all programs on your system and all drivers. Sounds like conflicting programs to me. Spybot runs in my tray 24/7 and even on programs I know it may report as false positives it does not. So it sounds like system conflicts with you guys. Also Symntec is horrible as well. best anti virus is either Malwarebytes or ESET. I have not found any other paid solution that was even half way decent. But ESET is amazing. If anyone needs any "help" PM me. Read between the lines on that last comment.

I downloaded it, scanned it with AVG, and test it out. I don't have that problem. I think it's the version of AVG you have or the fact that infection been there for a while.
