I was talking with my bro and we got into argment about superman vs goku.

He said that superman could lift a quintrillion tons or the universe. I stated that goku had a power level of a trillion amd was a living god. Oddly enough tho he side with goku where i sided with superman because goku tire out b4 superman. But he said since goku has a trillion power level that it would be a problem for him.

I'm reminded, many years ago, about a heated (really heated) discussion as to who would win between Wonder Woman and Sailor Moon.

You know, I truly have no idea who would actually win. We wouldn't really know unless they actually fought each other. Even though I prefer Goku over Superman...I think in the end ole supes has the overall advantage as he has for all we know unlimited strength, stamina, speed..etc. While Goku's power is limited and can use it up rather quickly and his power is derived more from his chi energy. They are very different, even though both super powerful. I'm sure it would be one heck of a battle and Goku could hold his own, but after a while he would just run out of steam while Superman would have barely broken a sweat.

Hahaha, true...they would never fight each other cause they are both good guys, but Goku does love a challenge and fighting is in his blood. Superman on the other hand is more passive and would rather not fight. But I know Goku wouldn't force him, so if Supes won't fight neither will Goku....discussion over, next!

if you want to o on just power alone... i would give it to Goku....

if you remember, Doomsday is the only one to even come close to killing superman... and he didn't even need kryptonite!

he just beat the crap out of him.... and goku i feel is stronger than doomsday and superman..

and all the pic's of superman vs goku are of goku in his SSJ1 form....

but we all know goku would not stay in that form.... he would hit SSJ4 and then it would be all over for superman.

in that form Goku can destroy planets.... Doomsday can even do that and he almost killed superman!

and if you want to add Supermans speed to the fight.. i would still give it to goku.... instant transmission, because of that goku also have the speed advantage....

and if you want to talk about powers.... well goku gets that one too... i don't think i need to explain why.

Hmmmm, Good points Sic-1, now that I think about it...even just ssj3 could be more than enough to take on Supes. If it wasn't for Goku's power being limited (gets tired from using all that power) he could possibly pummel Supes pretty good..if not kill him. But it can be hard to say who is truly the more powerful adversary without overestimating or underestimating each others power.

That's normal superman. It's been generally noted that Supes gets his powers from the yellow Sun. Did you think Krypton had a bunch of supermen running around before their planet blew up?

Also, I see no reason Goku would use any of Supes weaknesses against him. The guy gave Frieza a chance to repent, why would he weaken Superman?

Also, one must understand that Superman and Goku are 2 very different kinds of heroes fighting against 2 very different kinds of villians working with different kinds of allies. You can't short change Supes because one of his greatest adversaries was Lex Luthor. Lex may be human but even Superman has standards. Both Goku and Supes tend to show restraint, so of course Superman won't just find Lex and just murder the guy (well... it depends on which universe we're talking about. Justice Lords, anybody?)

As for why his main rival is Batman, first off for most of DBZ/DBGT Vegeta was just second place to Goku. By the time they became officially rivals Goku was already a few steps ahead. That is until Vegeta cheated and skipped SSJ3.

Second, look at Lex and Batman, two men who are considered GENIUSES in their fields. Just because they can't destroy worlds (outright, anyway) doesn't mean they are any less formidable opponents. It's Brains vs. Brawn, something that isn't normally the focus of the DBZ/GT series (I'll admit to DB being a bit more smarter at times).

Third, he's Batman. Sure he may not be able to beat Goku outright, but I bet if he had an amalgam universe version of him that had him combined with Squirrel Girl even Cell would shat his pants.



But, in the end, this is pretty much apples and oranges. Why are there people so desperate to make fruit cocktail?

This reminds me of the discussions I'd have with my friends in high school that started with me just saying "Okay, who'd win: Mega Man vs..."  and my friends coming up with every possible hero and/or villain they could think of.

In all honesty, most of these are biased opinions that aren't really going to say who would actually win. I like Supes way more, so I'm going for him, of course. A lot of people like Goku, so they'll go for him instead. If I remember correctly, Supes took out a planet before, don't know for what reason though, but he can do it as well.

Really, if it ever happened, the winner would only really depend on who wrote the story. It's that simple.

Yeah, one thing I forgot to mention... not only are there different versions of Supes in different dimensions, but also different writers for Superman. There's so many things to consider you can't simply say "Superman" vs. Goku.

But all in all, I have to say this is a tired argument bringing up stuff that is out of character for both participants. I mean, if Goku would be inclined to instant transmission Supes to a planet with a red sun, then Superman would be inclined to turn back time.
