I'm working on Necro's adaptation for the project right now, so we can test the system with him as well (considering the nature of his moves). Expect news very soon.

What's the progress? How many stages and characters done? Thought Alex, Leo, Ryu, and Chun-li would be done for the demo release. Won't there be more than 4 characters that will be in the demo?

I'll be posting info about it. How many stages: 18. Characters: Alex, Leo, Ryu, Chun-Li, Ibuki, Captain Commando, Strider Hiryu, with progress in others, either sprites or coding (like Fiona, Morrigan, Batsu, Frank West, Tiffany, Hinata, Haggar and so on). So yes, there'll be more characters in the demo once it's released.

Alright, I was talking with MGMURROW, and we decided the first demo will include 10 characters. I'll be working on my characters, as well as the Screenpack (so we could show it with the first demo; much alike what happened with MVC3, when previous builds were shown to public).

In the meantime, some shots:

Haggar by SeanAltly and Tiffany by Li Kun: both versions still need to be coded in the CFAS template, but here's a sprite show ;). Tiffany is almost complete as well (sprite-wise) :)


Chris Redfield (public version), sprites by Riklaionel and Alan JoeStar, Mr. X by SeanAltly


And finally, Captain Commando by MGMURROW (almost done, he just needs some adjustments and one hyper) and Necro adaptation by me, based on SpecialOps' Necro (WIP)

This is so awesome as always, Nestor. I'm looking forward to the release so far. Great update! I see very CVS-ish style of Necro there. I thought it was going to be the Alpha style 'cause O was working on it.

@ Enso: yes, the sprites of the SpecOps version are more SFA stylized, however, the current look for CFAS is going to be more alike the shown in the screenshot.

So, it's time to work harder in this project for us. I'll work as much as possible in the project, so we can show something playable soon. Also, aside of this, Chris already have all his basics coded, and he'll be worked on along with my other chars. You can expect the public release of him soon guys :) later, I'll work in the CFAS version.

IKEMEN isn't that bad now, but can't replace MUGEN yet. I wish it will someday, if not slowing down on some hypers + on massive amounts of anims and some issues with chars standing on thin air or can't get up(though they aren't happening that often) it could've.
Anyway, great stuff you showing there, Nestor, looking forward playing demo of CFAS :thumbsup: CFAS would be a great game for sure.

Shadaloo, as it says - it's MUGEN clone engine. It's compatible with MUGEN chars, stages and at some extent screenpacks, though you need to adapt them(screenpacks). As of now it's hard to find chars that don't work on it(few months ago it was near 2/3 of everything I've tried, now I'm checking every char just to be sure), some stages going wrong, but not a major amount of them.
I've just grabbed fresh version and slowdowns was reduced a bit :) Though I warn you - if you will use not default lifebars and there're hitsparks it may slow down game when hitsparks appears. Also it has no in-game settings, you need to open main.lua, select.lua (Script folder) and config.ssz (ssz folder) to configure it.
Sorry for >:-(-| I bet there was thread somewhere for MUGEN clones.

Testing the portraits; the distribution was changed. I think we'll go with this idea; looks pretty good and we have some work done, thanks to BlackOps and !E in some past portraits.

really digging that C. select screen Nestor bro.  and you got my boy Batsu showing! thats the first character i am rolling with at the start of ther game.  a cool surprise for me would be to have Roy show up in an intro or winpose or something. thats my other fav from Rival schools. great stuff team CFAS!
