exactly is my problem with it so far too. i ahte how they have made their own destination for my stuff already at the start, though i can change it. yeah mine has 8 gigs of ram

. i was on it for the first time last night and that stuff is almost tooooooo fast. u guys ever seen those commercials where the guy/girl is clicking an dit goes straight to the page with no load time.....my new pc is like that now for real. i was like oh shoot what happened to the loading time

. and it download eoh of 5 minutes literally. i literally watched the clock. so far vista is amazing!!!!

EDIT: Well so far I have had no compatibility issues with any of my old programs. they all work fine and so does mugen and all my emus. my emus work so much better right now. its so flawless. imma start trying to posts some videos of it working the games i have. ou tof these 3 which should I do first? Kingdom Hearts: Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts 2: Final Mix plus, Final Fantasy X, or any other game of your preference???

I have vista. It's alright. I don't like it as much as windows xp. When i exit mugen it freaks out on me with messages. it is faster sometimes. it wont work with older programs. but it does have good features. I prefer xp though. maybe it's just because i'm more used to it?

The incompatibility is sometimes a problem, but I think more of the incompatibility is with the fact that I'm running 64 bit. my REAL gripe with vista, as silly as it sounds, is that there's no more "up" button in explorer. only back and forward now, so I can't just go up one folder to browse around my files anymore.

Ok now that thats out of the way, When you buy a game from microsoft or any other developer that has the system specs specifically tailored for windows vista, just go to a place where you get software(not gonna go into this subject due to the no warez posting/linking rules). There is usually a patch that will force it to work on XP.

There is a developer that has made a windows XP patch for halo 2 vista. They have been making and improving it for the past 2 years. It actually will let you play on XP even under windows live if I recall correctly.

But vista is a decent OS if you have the hardware to back it up and ATLEAST 2 gigs of ram for it to fully function while gaming.

yeah, there are some patches for games to make them work on XP, but once they get into developing games that take advantage of vista and the way it runs, I don't think they'll be able to patch anymore.

I've heard that vista is impossible with older programs, such as not having a DOS emulator and as I've seen it constantly crash many games that I still currently play with access errors. I'll stay with XP and as for my flashy effects I'll use WindowBlinds and CursorXP. Azenis FTW.

windowblinds is great when it slows your computer down to the speed of a turtle.

I dunno how people could fuss about vista being slow, and then use that.

by messing around i found this to not be true. i have full compatibility with all my old files even the dos ones. i just ran them with compatibility to xp sp2 which is arguably the best. they worked as well as they did in xp after that with no crashes even after being left on all night by accident. mugen works fine also. it did crash 2 times but that was after a few hours of play

Then you have a crappy computer. With XP I have not had any problems with Windows Blinds. For vista I have not tried it dont really think I would need it for vista. But windows blinds is fine on XP.

My setup :

AMD Athlon xp 64 x2 4200 +
A8n-SLI Premium (currently getting a new one of these as my board is messed up)
2x XFX Nvidia Geforce 8800 GT Alpha dog edition with 512 MB DDR3 ram (SLI mode)
2 gigs of DDR400 ram (crap ram I know, its the highest the mobo can support)
Onboard sound
Windows XP Pro SP2(SP3 has mass amounts of performance hits for me)

I agree, Windows Blinds doesn't slow down my system at all. Not when my lappy had 2Gb RAM, and especially not now that it has 4Gb RAM.

Yea exactly. I may not have the complete top of the line hardware by todays standards. But I can run any game like ; crysis,crysis warhead, Farcry2, Eve-online(hey

of peeps have problems with that game), Dead Space. Anything you name it all at max settings and windows blind at full throttle in the background. I have no slow downs what so ever. So the only way I can think windows blinds would be effecting performance is with like 512 MB of ram and an ancient CPU.

so far i like it better than xp. there are ways xp is still got vista by the sac but overall vista is better as its actually a highly advanced form of xp that while its more difficult to use because of the way the new stuff works it isnt bad at all when you get used to it. It has grown on me because now I kno how to use it but at first it was a real killer.

of people hate change from something old to something new but in this case it was a good change though many may not believe it. I say if you have a high end Cpu vista is for you but a low end cpu xp is for you....for those in between its your choice. That Directx10 is the best owns. You would be surprised how much better those CG cut scenes look on an HD monitor.

It has nothing to do with " hating change " vista is just bad . I run Windows 7 beta on one of my comps . I'll change to that on all my comps when the release it .

Windows 7 is pretty much what Vista should've been had Microsoft decided to work on it longer, rather than releasing it early.
