Who would YOU have preferred for SF4?

Jumping heavy kick to EX Snake Strike owns. Hes a really good character. People need to get past his goofiness. Same with El Fuerte.

I know, but I can't think of anyone else he could be referring to in terms of joke characters other than Dan. Rufus may not be visually appealing, but he's a powerful fighter in this game.

technically gouken could be considered a joke character they even have the title you can earn from his trials called "A.K.A. Sheng Long"

El fuerte >_>, and I don't mean they are joke characters, the character designs are on the goofy side, that's what I ment, because Rufus is clearly no joke, that fast mofo! I like him, but I like the more serious character designs. Dan is a joke character, even though he's way better in this game than in the past games he's been in, but I didn't mention him because I was talkin' about the new SFIV characters.

I would prefer to see guarda from street fighter ex3 in sf4. i love the way he fights and his meteor combo is something. He could be like a sub boss like he was in the game. Eagle is good too.

To fit into the story wise

I dont think deejay and t hawk should be in other than the fact that they are apart of the 2nd original crew (speaking in snes terms here). adon shouldnt be in but it would be fun to play as him though he has a drug addiction (as far as the story goes).

characters that truly should be in (imo) are

Karin
Guy
Yun
Yang
Makoto (due to her potential as a second woman rival of ryu besides sakura)
Oro  (because he is the strongest so far and he still only uses one arm)
Dudley (balrog needs a boxing rival)



also about el fuerte....i dont think hes that goofy. its his story that makes him goofy not his play style or design. a chef thats a luchador. at least that explains why hes so fast and quick on movements. Rufus at first i was like look at this fat guy. but now i can actually take him serious now because he is a rather interesting character once u get used to him. i thought of maining him because hes so huge but then i realized hes actually a real beast. besides i could do that that to my other sf characters.

Personally I'm ticked that Mr.Ono wouldn't allow Final Fight characters in this game. The license issue is so dumb, how Capcom of america own the FF brand, but they also own the SF brand and Capcom Japan made SF4 (well Dimps really, but you know what  I mean) Capcom is one big mess these days. I also remeber him saying he didn't want FF characters in cause it would make the game too much like Alpha, but yet he tosses in 4 characters from Alpha anyway. Everything he says contradicts with what he does, the man is insane and should never have been put in charge. Anyway, it would have been nice to have Guy, Haggar and Maki.

but if u noticed he only tossed in the most important ones like gen, rose, sakura, and dan. all those characters have a bigger influence over most of the other alpha characters. besides there most likely will be another alpha.

well sf4 pretty much is alpha 4 if you think about it story wise the alpha series was all an interquel between Street fighter and street fighter 2 and SF4 is an interquel between street fighter 2 and street fighter 3 so technically SF4 IS alpha 4. but story wise im not sure what to make of this game i mean they ignore everything but what they want to for example if this game takes place well before sf3 then y are Yun and Yang depicted as being the same age in chuns intro. Guile in SF2 had holding up charlies dogtags as a winpose so why did they decide to give him the dogtags in his intro i could go on and on with the inaccuracies but i wont

well lets think about that for a sec....the answer to all your questions are...because it is a game not a movie and they arent being depicted as being the same age as chun li. they look around the same age is all. if u remember chun li isnt exactly old ya know. they decided to give guile the dogtags in his intro most likely to show you where they last left off. i guess as sort of a reminder that he hasnt gotten over it yet.

hahahah solid!? I won't bother to even get into why SF4's engine or SF4 as a whole is one big broken mess. I don't want to derail the thread anymore than it is, but let's just say that people need to open their eyes and take a deeper look in the game, but then again you really don't have to as the flaws are obvious.

He's a sterotype. It's not supposed to be offensive, it's supposed to be a sterotypical mexican wrestler. look at the other characters in SFII. guile was the american so he was an army guy in cammo, bison was teh evil badguy so he resembled a nazi, chun li was a female so she was weak and agile, zangief was from the soviet union, so he wrestled bears, had a factory for a stage, had guys drinking vodka in the background, ect. dee jay was jamacian so he danced, T. Hawk was an indian, so he had face paint and feathers, and did the cross legged "how" pose when he won. It's just how street fighter has always designed it's characters.

What's broken about it? The flaws are not obvious. Explain to me via PM or something as to why they are flawled, I would like to know.

I really shouldn't have mentioned it in here, but it's just my own observations and opinions from doing research about the game from other players and things said and done by Capcom. Just look around the fighting game community and make your own conclusions. I'm just not personally happy with how they put this game together. Like for instance how the game is dominated by Sagat, Zangief and Blanka. But it's not so much that they are overpowered it's that they made all the other characters too weak. But I guess it's tradition for Capcom to make their games unbalanced somehow. You also have the ultras, that do way too much damage and reward the player for getting beat up. Supers are pretty much useless as you will need to use EX moves and FA much more. Linking and chaining in this game is messed up and you no longer can play SF like you used to. They put way too strict of timing for making links and chains count. It just seems like Capcom changed everything that makes SF..SF! There are a lot of little glitches and bugs too, they just need to patch this game badly. Anyway, that's enough off topic crap from me...I just have my own views on what has been done with the game is all.
