You don't have to ask for copyright permission. Pretty sure you didn't e-mail the Barney people, right?

Otherwise that looks slick.

Hey man, if i have to ask permision to "mugen creators for their stuff" why not to the really ones who makes the original things.

and no ,barney image is just a portrait and a personal character.

Enjoy the release.

Because you're bringing un-needed attention to our hobby. The big companies gave the community an OK in the past and removed us from their radar - but with as touchy as people are these days, the less legal offices MUGEN passes through, the better.

Anyway, great release. Just letting you know - you don't need to go alerting the copyright offices next time around. :)

True. All the majors (Capcom, SNK, Midway to name a few) have openly stated that because we don't make profit on Mugen, they view mugen works as Fan-art. Some companies have given few restrictions. Like for instance I remember with Queen of Hearts series, we were asked to give a new QoH game a 6 month stand before any mugen material be released, little things like that.

Contacting companies for copyright issues can and has before given the impression that we plan to make profit on works with said material involved and they'll be more likey to conflict then consent.

exact, to avoid problems i will allow some time since remake release, you know.

is for that reason i make a "classic" look to the game using elements of CPS.

I'm fairly certain MvC2 doesn't count since a) the menus had completely been changed. the only thing that's the same is the versus screen and b) we've been doing MvC2 stuff for over 7 years now.

yeah that is true, seven years making stuff from a game launched almost 10 years ago with a poor ripped technology (seen in this days of course) in a time that sega dreamcast has droped down and capcom lost rights from marvel.

Time has changed not only menus, and beliveme in this times even a smallest thing can become dangerous in the market.

10 years later we have a downloadable remake with a cost of course and the "freeware mugen" in consoles whit HDD.

a)except menus everything is the same thing only pseudo-wided
b)well time change

Time pass
New year, new mugen and new update.

i have both nearly complete 320x240 versions for the original winmugen , but my goal always was "copy" the native 640x480 naomi/dreamcast resolution and thanks to mugen 1 can be possible:

anyway eventualy, Ill release all versions

:cool  More updates....and time for release is comming

Here are the current  select and versus screens for mugen 1 with their winmugen counterparts

Of course are FULL animated and re-ripped, one thing, winmugen version is 4 times smaller than mugen 1 due obvious sizes.

Are still in development as you can see.

p.d. current motif size is 103 mb
pd2, current storyboards size are 83 mb
PD3. select and versus backgrounds are the most heavier part.
