Try this one:
http://www.dlldump.com/download-dll-files_new.php/dllfiles/I/in_midi.dll/-/download.html

you add it in the plugin area of your mugen.cfg.

ok, exactly where do I add it and how, this is what i have and it's not playing..........

  ;List Winamp-compatible plugins here.
  ;Specify the filename of the plugin and the list of file types to
  ;use the plugin for. One plugin per line.
  ;Example: plugin = plugins/my_plugin.dll, mp3, mp2, mpg
  ;
  ;If music is not looping with a particular plugin, you can try an
  ;optional first argument looptype=1 (seek to zero; may stutter)
  ;or looptype=1 (reload plugin; slow).
  ;Example: plugin = looptype=1, plugins/my_plugin.dll, mp3, mp2, mpg
plugin = looptype=2, plugins/DJ-VAN.dll, mp3, mp2, mpg
plugin = looptype=2, plugins/in_midi.dll, midi

the bottom line is what I added, is this where I should be making changes? If so, it didn't work :(

I'm having a crappy time getting stuff to work for Mugen today

thats ok, some midi's are very good though. And converting them to .wav or .mp3 makes them sound different

also, where is the midi.dll that comes with mugen? I don't know where it is

When i got mugen, all the plugins where inside the plugins folder. i dont know if over time they took em out or not. but if not, some members just gave out links to find new ones.

well by default, its up. so now need to mess with it.

if its not:

-the plugin in the folder

-proper indication in the mugen.cfg

then i dont know what to tell you. you said you did everything right to indicate it and no good results....then i dont know what the prob is. becuz what was stated works for us. i dont know about ur situation. do you have vista or something?
