Try to disable analog mode on the controller, basically press the little button in the midlle of the controller until the red light turns off, then try configuring your joy pad setting in options, confirming and laslty saving them around the load/save option. If it still doesnt work try to start mugen witht the controller plugged in and then unplug it while mugen is running, restart mugen and then plug the controller back in its port. Sometimes the OS drivers dont recognize new hardware unless its firmly in the (2.0) usb port. If all else fails then get a $25.00 logitech around that price and i guarantee you will love them, not only are they great controllers in terms of grip but they are also steardy, one thing i will always give to sony is that i dropped my ps2 controller alot when i was using my psx joypad converter and it really never failed on me, there only lame because i wore out the buttons doing allot of half quarter circle moves ya dig.
