1.) Yes, anything that your imported (Striker, Proj ect.) into your character should have a color registred in your pallette. I believe you can even go into your pallette options and click on any color of your active sprite and it should let you know exactly where it can be found on your pallette.

Actually, it can go either way. It's not necessary to have the hitsparks sharing the palette unless you plan to have them change color depending on the palette chosen. Some chars have projectiles/strikers that change colors, but again, it's not necessary it's pretty much up to you. All you have to do is add their colors in to the palette and have them share palettes with the char.

That's correct. I acutally like to have the effects all on my palette for one reason.. they will visiualize normally in DOS as well as WinMugen. For whatever reason, in my experience Dos Mugen doesn't handle characters with separate color palettes well.

I also tend to do it as more of an orginization type thing and to insure I don't accidentally have some of the character's normal sprites without the shared palette. If that happens, the character will flash his/her normal color on the sprite that's not in the shared set.

ok, thanks for all the help.

Now, another question:

I want my chararcter to jump up and down as part of its intro, and i'm going to use only 2 sprites for the jump. How do i get my char to jump as part of its intro?

2) Yes, but you need a mic..

Not really you can use programs such as Audacity to record sound directly without a mic(I done it before when I was recording a song from a website).

Use the jump spirtes in the .sff to create the animation for your jumping intro. Number of sprite depends on the character.

Hope you're not using Vista because Vista doesn't have that capability, it was left out because of some sort of programming confliction.

Oh I don't use Vista.

When I made my mugen videos I used XP and most of the time I don't use mics. If you have a mic, unhook it or go into the volume control panel, select properites, uncheck mic and save.
