« on: April 09, 2008, 10:35:59 AM »
------------------------
Programs needed:
------------------------

FFX2mov
FMVTool
PSS Demux
PSS Player
VirtualDubMod

01. Insert your PS2 game in your DVD-ROM

02. Go in "My Computer"
    right-click on your "DVD-ROM"
    choose "Explore"

03. Make a search for "PSS" files

04. Once "PSS" files are found decide wich one you want
"Drag and Drop" a "PSS" file in "PSS Player" to view it

05. Then "Copy" it and "Paste" it somewhere on your "Hard Drive"

06. Run "PSS Demux"

07. "Drag and Drop" the "PSS" file you've just putted on your "Hard Drive" in "PSS Demux"

08. "PSS Demux" will "Demultiplex" your "PSS" file automatically
and will generate an "M2V" video file and a "WAV" audio file

09. Run "VirtualDubMod"

10. Go to -> File -> Open Video File
locate the "M2V" video file and hit "Open"

11. Go to -> Streams -> Stream List -> Click on "Add"
locate the "WAV" audio file and hit "Open"
    then hit "OK"

12. Go to -> Video -> Compression
    select "XviD MPEG-4 Codec"
    click on "Configure"
    set "Target quantizer" to "1"
    hit "OK"
    then hit "OK" again

13. Go to -> File -> Save As
give it a "Name" and hit "Save"

14. EnJoY!!!

P/S:  To Rip "Final Fantasy X" movies, follow this:
      a. Insert the game in your DVD-ROM
      b. Run "FFX2mov" and it'll ask you to select your "DVD-ROM"
      c. Double click on a movie you want (a "X" mark will appear next to it)
      d. Hit "Extract" (the movie will be extracted where the "ffx2mov.exe" file is)
      e. "FFX2mov" will "Demux" the movie and generate an "M2V" video file and a "WAV" audio file
      f. Multiplex both files to an "AVI" using "VirtualDubMod" as shown previously

P/S: When you can't find "PSS" files on the DVD, it means that they are "hidden".
To Rip "hidden" movies, follow this:
     a. Insert the game in your DVD-ROM
     b. Open "FMVTool"
     c. click on "Configure"
     d. In "Interface" choose "W2K/XP - scsi commands"
     e. In "Drive" choose you "DVD-ROM" drive letter
     f. Hit "OK"
     g. Decide the "Path to save files" (you'll need to enter the path by typing it manually)
     h. Then hit "Start Searching"
     i. Wait till the search is 100% completed
     j. Now Select a movie you want
     k. Hit "Extract Checked"
     l. "FMVTools" will probably extract the movie into an "MPG" file
     m. Even tho the file will be playable as it is, you'll notice that the video is on steroids
     n. To fix that, "Demultiplex" the "MPG" file using "PSS Demux"
     o. Then "multiplex" both files to an "AVI" using "VirtualDubMod" as shown previously
