im gonna make this real simple.....

i get kicked out most of the time after playing about 10 min in sigle player but in 2 on 2 arcade i get kicked out in 4-5 min.

i get this message everytime....

"Assert failure in charsel. c line 3162"


its getting to the point were im not really getting on infinity anymore and losing interest in mugen. cause i dont want to bother with it anymore.

i beg of u to help.

The problem is a char you will have to check them them all

Oh Boy I've dealt with that.A Real Pain in the butt 
It's either in the CFG file or it's a character like fallen Angel said.If it's the CFG then what you must do is go into your CFG file scroll All the way down and then set the random colors to 1.But if it's already set then you must check every single character you've got until that pops up again.It'll take a long time but if your patient then you'll pretty much succeed.I remember the Raiden and Shiva I had they had that issue and I had to remove them from my roster.Then afterwards it stopped doing that completely.

when you say cgf file, you mean the mugen.cgf right?

and what do i look for in all the character's folders? whats the thing that i need to spot?

Yes the mugen config.In there scroll down until you find this below.

If AI.RandomColor is set to 0 you must set it to 1.
But if it's already at 1 like mine's is then it is a character.How do you find out which character you ask?It's going to be a real pain but you have to play as every single one of the characters you have in your roster.I mean throw them into battles.For how long I don't even know.You just have to keep playing around with the characters you have until that problem comes up.If the problem comes up while your using a character then remove that character and see what happens afterwards.I had this before with Shiva Raiden and The Hulk and I had to remove them because of it.After I removed them the problem stopped coming up.Your going to have to do the same thing I did.

Well I can't blame you because Mugen has far too many issues left unsloved.I really wished though that they were.But Elecbyte just ran off without a word.So we must live with what we have.If you can't deal with it then I cannot blame you for losing interest.

I wouldn't just run off for it, I mean I had 1000 characters to sort through and it only took me maybe 30 minutes to find the problem. What I did was remove a big chunk of characters and then started putting them back in one chunk at a time and eventually I was able to narrow it down to like 10-15 characters and then work from there. I like fixing problem with Mugen, it makes me use my noggin

Good point.PPL will be able to fix their own problems.So who knows someone may fix all the issues Mugen has left and then release it out to the world.

heh i had mugen errors in my time but what i did was i went to my select.def file and cut out chunks of characters file, save and try to play mugen. if the error still occurs i put them back and keep doing so until mugen works then takin SMALLER chunks of chars until i single one out and delete him. the best thing to do to avoid this is when you are putting characters into your select.def file just stop and play mugen and see if it works

my thing was set to 0 so i changed it to 1.  it worked that pop up doesnt come up anymore...... THANKS

but sometimes i still do get kicked out here in there mysteriously, but thats normal right?  like that dude said, theres lots of problems with mugen.  i agree...it isnt perfect.  but i still consider it the best fighting game period!

Try and monetor when it shuts down and c what character are on the screen, What stage, and music is playing thses all cause it to shut down.

My self i used the process they ued uptop, taking characters out and adding em slowly. This got rid of 90% of character problems. Then i did the method i said be4 and my mugen shut off 1 mayb 2 a month i think mayb not at all.
