Best way to distribute stages?

Poll question/options make it pretty clear though, surveying people because I've been wondering about making stages and BGM available as one download.

I think its great when the author of a stage actually takes the time to determine which music perfectly fits their stage.  Strictly speaking for people with slow internet connections, I would have to say that its better to offer the stage and the music seperately.  It sucks to have to spend 20-30 minutes dl'ing a stage.

The longest stage dl I had was less than a minute. I picked packaged together. That is what I do.

You're going to get a mixed reaction PotS. People with slow, 56K-DSL internet connections will all say "separate!" while the rest of us on high speed that never think twice about a 9mb stage download will all say "One file!" I say split them to appease the lower ended people with slower connections. People that download your stuff anyway will get everything they can because of the "name brand" you've built for yourself.

I don't have dial-up and my internet here is pretty butt. Being slow is bad enough, but I also have to worry about it randomly cutting off on my because of the crappy router.

As I said at the guild, separate. My average download speed is between 5 and 30 kb/second.

I say packed BG & BGM. Its nice to have it all in one than having sepereate DL's or parted DL's.
This way you know what music goes with what stage if your getting numerous files.
As a .rar file its easier to have the SFF, DEF & BGM in one DL.

I personally believe that should be an option only. Cuz you might jump out and be like, "Yo!! I got this hot song to go with this stage"!! So let's just leave it as is...

I guess having them seperate wouldn't hurt. It'd allow those with slow connections to download them. Also, if people don't want the music they don't have to download it.

I'm a hghspeed user and I agree with Excursion about spliting them up. An extra 30 seconds to download two files won't kill anyone.

Personally, I would Have Val package your separated stages and music into one package as a cron job.

As for stages & bgm vs stages+bgm I would keep them together as the music would be 'accurate' to the stage. If I download _____'s stage, I naturely would assume ________'s music would be with it.

Do you have a log of connections and speeds available? I would take a look at that.

I have actually never created a stage, so this is something I have no experience with  . Still, my opinion is  a middleground-- to keep the downloads separate, but maybe to have the bgm there with it side by side in a separate link.

That way, people who want a creator hand-picked bgm could download it if they wish, or those who have slower connections and don't want to (or can't) spend the time downloading a stage and bgm file can download the stage without the bgm, if he/she so desires.

I say that you should keep it the way you are doing pots:Stage and BGM separate,so ppl can decide to dl both or if there´s any other music choice they prefer,ppl will not have to download a big file with a music file that probably is gonna end deleted because of ppl´s different tastes(we all have)

I prefer them seperate, only because It is annoying to take the seperate files out of one folder into others.

The music can go to the sound, and the stage goes to the stage. No need to dig in for me.

that never ocurred to me either, because I prefer to have the music in the stages folder. I have each stage in it's own folder inside of the stages folder, with all the files in their respective folders.

i will have to go with (Stage and BGM as separate downloads)
that if it's the original stage music like ken's stage and ken's theme from sf2.
in every case i would use my own music tracks that i think they fit with the stage.
also since most ppl tend to use their own tracks packing a bgm with the stage only adds unnecessary size to the dl.
