CAPCOM VS KONAMI the two Giants

man....i always had love for both on certain different levels...




Its like i was a huge mega man fan but then i was a huge Castlevania fan also.........

its like
Batman & superman
Goku & Vegeta
Megatron & Optimus prime

Ya like em both for different reasons


But deep down Im a Capcom fan at heart

Megaman 2 & bionic commando sealed the deal for me back then

I actually wasn't sure on which company I would like more from. I was assuming it'd be Capcom but I wasn't sure. So, I went through voting for my favorite games through each category and this is what I came up with..

8-Bit:
Capcom due to Mega Man. Really did love Konami's Life Force as well though.

Arcade:
Konami due to Ninja Turtles/DDR.

16-Bit:
Konami due to Super Contra. Really liked Capcom's Aladdin too but not nearly as much. Super Contra's probably my favorite SNES game (Mega Man Soccer's probably close behind).

32/64-Bit:
Konami due to Castlevania: SotN. Loved Rival Schools a lot but there's no way anything's topping SotN. That gave was just so damn addicting.

Last Gen:
Capcom due to Resident Evil 4. A game I played through over and over so many f*cking times and I loved Mercenaries.

Handheld:
Konami due to the Castlevania games. They just kept taking cues from SotN and there was no getting past them.

Current Gen:
Capcom due to Resident Evil 5.

In the end though, it was 3 to 4 with Konami pulling out the win IMO. However, when it comes to current stuff, I clearly like Capcom more then Konami. At this point only the future matters. =P

Yo Batz ya pretty much nailed the sh*t outta the same reasons i had of Capcom and Konami with those games. d@mn there all those games u listed is my same pick. withe exception of DDR (dance dance Revolution?) i never got into that but i did try to play and it was fun....

But yeh man Those two companies you can try to pick just one but thats d@mn there impossible seriously. Both even have d@mn good tastes in soundtrack music and composers all the time too.

Yea, just hard choices for the most part all over. If it was a question of who has the best music, it'd honestly just come down to Castlevania or Mega Man. Now that'd be a hell of tough call.

As for music im a huge Castlevania soundtrack fan. im so much of a geek with that where when a new Castlevania game comes out each time im like wondering "hmmm i wonder how the music is?" ....The BGM in that series is d@mn there flawless. its crazy. Like the guys at KOnami are Djs er somethin and have an ear for music.

Now as for megaman im pretty much a fan of classic MM BGMs 1-3. MMX to me is sorta so so. why? cuz it sounds like the Super street fighter music on snes. The melodies of SSF were nice but the audio instruments i didnt like. i wasnt a fan of that pretty much. thats just me . I was more a fan of the original SF2 turbo and SF3 and Alpha series.

To me, I'd go with Capcom due to what I get to be familiar, and even Konami. I'm a fan of Capcom.

The games I remember playing Capcom games were: Resident Evil 4, Devil May Cry 2 & 3, Mega Man 1-8, Mega Man X 1-4 (but not 3).

Konami: Super Castlevania IV, TMNT 4 (not mentioning the arcade, but SNES ), Metal Gear Solid 2 & 3.

There're some games I forgot to list.

My favorite series of all time is the Castlevania series. So I guess I have a bias opinion. I'm going with Konami, because I will never forget the day I played Castlevania 1 for the first time

8 bit: its a bit of a toss up cuz castlevania 3 was most fave but megaman up to part 3 is still my most played games on my emulators so this one is a bit of a tie....

16 bit : this one gets a nod to capcom tmnt tournament fighters was a great game!! but sf turbo was a classic that brought out the fighting game fan in me bigtime!!

32 bit : castlevania sotn was a breath of fresh air for the series, but capcom stomps over this one all the way mainly from the import scene with all the arcade perfect ports of fighters on the sega saturn!! well , except for xmen cota and marvel superheroes !! but everything else was the truth on the saturn!!! capcom won this hands down!!

handheld : tie both had equally great games on handheld systems period....

current gen : capcom!! resident evil 4 and 5 were so great and dead rising lets me speak to my inner psycho want to come out hahahaha!!!!! metal i lost interest due to splinter cell being a lil better imo... so capcom gets another win for my vote.....
