I really hate the beta channel design, i hope you all particapate in the blackout.

This isnt my video, nor is this on my account, but its one that was sent to me.

I agree. I seriously don't see what the big deal with the new layout is.

Although it could be nice if they had it so you could choose if you wanted to use it or not.

I'll just wait and see the results...

I dont like being forced to change something. I enjoy my freedom of choice, and i hope that after this they give people a choice.

This isnt going to work. They tried the same thing when Facebook was changing its profiles and people were upset. Youtube is going to do what it wants regardless

Well, today is July 14th, and I don't know what to do. I would have to watch the Youtube video you posted which would means that if I watch it, I'm definately not blacking out Youtube. I'm araid to touch anything now because I want to participate but I'm not quite sure what's going on, should I watch the Youtube video... or not...

I personally don't think one day will do anything, that's not much of a protest. Although I do think that YT should make it a choice, I don't mind the new channel design.

I just checked the beta channel info page and it reads "We want to give you a heads up that we're changing the day on which we'll move all remaining channels over to the new version. Why? Well, July 15th is almost here, and we realized that we still have a few bugs and things left on the to-do list."

so basically the only thing it did was change the date of the release

I don't like the new design . So whatever I did not log into youtube or watch any vids yesterday . I really do not think it proved anything . Didn't someone do that for didn't they have a gas boycott a few years ago . After no one bought gas that certain day , they just raised to the price the next day to make up for the money they lost the day before ...

BTW the day you guys protested had tons of people on. You guys were probably in the 2-3% that did not logon. So tell you the truth I think you guys did not even get them to push the release date back. I was logged in the whole day and there were def tons of people on.

unless there was a global balckout or at least week long there is no way that this would have worked either there are to many people that don't care to many people that like the sites changes or the time/day diffrence to pull it off . I dont really care for the new changes but like acey said its a free site and the only thing we can really do to change tthings are to leave or make our own youtube type place where anything goes
