spider-hulk (possible group character)
« on: September 03, 2009, 05:58:51 PM »

only one problem with this sprite. his left hand fingers need some good editing. if anyone doesnt mind editing them (and possibly any other mistakes and missing details,) I'd be happy with that.

um.... head way too small... shading is all messed up... the contour of the lines on the suit don't go with the muscles... withc bring me to the point of the shading... you can't see the defenetion of the muscles.

and where is his right arm??

Sic relax there a little, not everyone is an artist. The trick is teaching people to work with what they are good at, and how to fix said problems.
Okay, first lets start with the head. It seems you took spider-man's head and put it on the hulk....hence the small-ness.
Why not use Hulk's head for a size reference, then edit it to look like spider-man.

What is the idea in this edit ?
Hulk in a spiderman suit ?
Spiderman growing to become hulk under his suit. ?
A spiderman to muscular as hulk ?
what´s the story ?
maybe knowing what you want in that edit, i could help.

it's from a couple of spider-man issues.

EDIT: I mean web of spider-man.

For Warner

Ok there are a few issues with your sprite.

FIrst is detales, you colored away detales like where the edge of the arm is and where the muscles are.
Second detale issue is with the costume webbing, why does it look so random and cross-slashy.
Also the rips from the pants are there and it looks obvious. Then there's the spiderman head but thats been mentioned already.

I would suggest if you want to start sprite editing start with something simpler. Mega Man is a pritty simple base thats a good starting point, any mega man from 8 bit to mvc.

Go check out my sprite editing tutorals and try to make fireman from the video.

Um................OK where should I start
First of all his head is too small, the shading is weird and it almost looks flat, his suit looks like you just drew lines like crazy, some of the colors look messed up, hasn't anybody noticed that black blotch on his suit I suppose that is supposed to be the spidey symbol on his suit, its obvious that he still has ripped hulk pants,
and well hulk is just not a easy base to edit, start with a more simpler one.............

Awesome, Warner. Especially loving how you can see the shape of the face through the mask. :)
