Help with shading

I am working on the Mr.X char from RE 2. Could you help me with shading? I dont have much experience with shading and drawing.

This does look good so far...
and as for shading well try to study MvC/SFA characters shading and also I recommend looking at CvS Geese sprites for his lower part...
and also study hulk and magneto for his Upper body...

The sprite looks nice , shading..... not so good.

I really don't even know how to help you. There is no way for me to describe shading. I just kind of do it.

Maybe PM Z999 here & he can help you out. He does a lot of sprites from scratch & usually doeshis own shading. It turns out exceptionally well. maybe he has a technique to teach.
