Well, if you'd taken five minutes to look back through the topic, you'd have seen that my last (minor) update was on 28 October 2007, which was only last week. :P

So I'm not even going to tell you what I said on that update, because a little bit of reading back through a topic's pages never hurt anyone. ;*))

Are you really going releasing a punch bag beta?
Like Sandbag character from Super Smash Bros Melee, i'm glad that Jack can run, duck and jump.
Will he throw some coconuts?

Nope, he won't have any attacks whatsoever, since attacks actually require me to learn some more coding. He'll be able to block and taunt though (so, in some respects, he'll be just like the real thing in that he'll try and talk his way out -figuratively speaking- instead of fighting). ;)

I wish! I have trouble just finding time for Jack at the moment. I have seriously considered making him a future WIP though, maybe. He'd be based on his Sega Genesis incarnation, would probably use badniks and his death egg robots for strikers/hypers, and I'd use the voice of the AOStH Robotnik (since no one will ever surpass Long John Baldry in yelling "I HATE THAT HEDGEHOG!").

I suppose I'd best update on Jack before people start asking. I've just finished tweaking his jump, and he now has a taunt that was just a quick addition since the animation uses sprites from one of his win poses. He'll have several different taunts (hopefully) once I work out the randomisation coding (a bit like when Homer says different things every time he taunts, but in this case I want to use a different animation for each taunt).

I'll probably start on his get-hit animations soon. As I said previously, uni is being rather demanding and there are quite a few other commitments I have too. But rest assured, Mr. Sparrow is far from dead (he's just sleeping). ;)

Nope, I'm barely awake myself due to uni.  :D

I'm hoping to get quite a few of his get hit anims done next week (because it's basically my first week off), so stay tuned.

Annoying, isn't it? And now there's PS3 and Assassin's Creed to distract me, too. :D

Nevertheless, I shall persevere! Next week. Maybe. ;)

Seriously, I'll work on Jack...just as soon as New Year's has gone and I've done this exam on the 7th.

Well we don't want another Mojo(unfinished char) on our hands. I'm confident Russian Gestapo will hook us up though he's just understandably busy.

Thanks DG!

:p

*Le sigh* I'm getting through them. Got to custom-build/Frankensprite a few because Hayato's get-hit sprites really don't match up to KFM's, which means he looks awful when another character tries to throw him.

wow, what a neat idea for compiling required sprites.  :)
he's looking good,Barbados too, but there still seems to be a mix of your old and new designs for the sprites.

That's because I will be adjusting the old sprites to how I now sprite Jack (obviously, figured I might as well get some use out of the old sprites so I've just been converting them).  :P

Barbossa's sprites won't be used with Jack, they were a part of a stage MugenToons made a while back (it's probably still under the releases section).

Love your avatar, btw. :D

Well i'm glad that you going to add some sprites of Jack Sparrow.
Mostly MUGEN n00bs, forgot to add some sprites like when throw your character away.
For example: KH characters (except Sora and Cloud), incomplete characters, butthead, L block and that stupid Diana from Alex Peter.
Anyway good luck once again.  :)

It's been possibly forever since I posted here, and that's because I haven't been able to do anything MUGEN related over the last four months or so. Turns out my course at university is quite intensive. ;)

Basically, just posting to say that when I get my extended summer break this year I'll continue to work on him, because I cringe at the thought of joining the ranks of other MUGEN creators who promised us the world and then disappeared into the ether without so much as a word.

Alternatively, if there are any serious MUGEN creators out there who'd like to have a go at working on Jack (with the same care and attention I gave him) while I'm busy with university, give me a PM and we'll talk. I'm not trying to shoulder the work on someone else, I just feel a little bit guilty that there's a whole community out there who were promised Jack Sparrow for MUGEN and were given jack-all. :-[
