Hey, take the story into consideration for the intro against regular Fei Long. Why not have E.F. Long throw the mask and hit normal F. Long in the face with it, breaking it in half? Or have him mockingly imitate normal F. Long?

More progress on Evil Fei Long...



Starting with a complete sprite base/palletting overhaul (a Joker inspired pallette), i have Evil Fei Long a "Semi" Smart pallet with individually indexed colors for more pallette combinations. (Compared to the original "two tone" pallette created back in 2009)

Currently to the new def file whats playable:
-Stance
-Walk Foward
-Walk back
-Jump
-Jump Foward
-Jump back
-Super Jump
-Block
-Crouch block
-Air Block
-Lie Down
-Getup from Ground
-Get hit high
-Get high low
-Get hit crouch
-Standing light punch
-Standing medium punch
-Standing heavy punch
-Standing LK, MK, cMK, HK, and cHK
-Crouching LP, MP, HP, LK, MK, and HK
-Aerial LP, MP, HP, LK, Mk and Hk
**Second Pallette added
**Taunt ready
**Win Pose 1
** Thriple Fist Combo ----> (D, DB, B x/y/z )
**Tornado Kick -----> (D, DB, B a/b/c )
**Standing Fireblast ---->(D, DF, F x/y/z )
**Crouching Fireblast ----> (D, DF, F a/b/c )
**More Clns2 boxes
**Standing, Aerial, and Basic to Special Combo ready 



Downside corrections still need to be made:
--------------------------------------------
-Fireblasts need to be less spammable/ cancalation when collision with another fireball
-NO HYPERS ATM 
-Correction of the Clns2 Boxes for accurracey
-More Spriteswork to the complete sheet.

Thanks man... it was actually my first attempt. I had a lot of downtime a couple months back and i was thinking how to really make this fei long pop out without dumping the WIP all together. Soon i'll be making a couple addition pallettes.

All i have to do is tighten up some of the CNS information on some of the special and hyper moves, plus im still adding more fx to some animations and still needs a few more Hypers, but I've been getting possitive feedback on the (a)lpha def, soit shouldn't be much longer. It's only been like 2 years when i first started putting him together (give or take time away cause of other projects.)

In this pic you posted, check out the yellow chest area, when he goes into his stance, its like his muscles flip upsidedown and back again everytime his hand goes up and down.

That's not the sprites im using in the new def. I reanimated the original from a fresh start so it doesn't shift around.

The fire on the second screenshot BETTER be an explod or helper.  Otherwise it just looks terrible if it's pasted on the character themselves, Warner style.  The fire in the charging anim should have transparencies.  There is no justification for it to be like that.


Like I said about the fire, the flame on the kick would look SO MUCH BETTER as an explod or helper.  Fire is transparent, not solid.  The hitsparks on the Nunchucks aren't lined up with him.

The flame is pasted on the character and not an explod or helper for that intro, however the flames in the second picture is coded as an explod, I have already added the tranparentcy effect on the aura pose and admit it looks a lot more fitting. The fire itself can always be changed if i find a better source then what i am currently using. 

The hitsparks on the Nunchucks aren't lined up with him.

Noted and will be fixed as i switch out all the default hitsparks from the .def file.

It still looks bad when you look at the shadows.  When did you ever see fire, or any source of light, have a shadow?

Hitsparks are a bit tricky, but a rule of thumb is to make them appear where the point of impact is.  For example, the palm of the hand as opposed to the whole hand, the elbow, etc.
