If marvel can produce movies this good then DC will never stand a chance when it comes to theater sales, but i could be wrong cause the trailers for dark-knight look good... hope its as good as Iron-Man

jus cause the theater sales are great doesnt mean the movie is good.  spiderman3 and hulk and cloverfield and etc. made lots of money but sucked.  so DC can make better movies but maybe not make as much money.  i just hate how people see the amount of money it made and then call it a success from that, when most of the reason why people went to see all these crappy movies like sm3, cloverfield, etc. is mostly media, hype, and teaser trailiers.

My words come from proof that if a movie is good it will spread from word of mouth and people will go check it out to see what its about, if a lot of people come from free screeners and tell people the movie sucked then people usually will stay away from it. No one's denying that Spider-man 3 sucked (cant agree with you on the hulk though). Also i really cant argue with you when it comes to comic-book adaptations because most comic-book readers go to these movies just off of the merit that they are comic-book movies. Sales dont really reflect on how good a movie is i'll give you that but it does tell the person mostly that 8 out of 10 that if this many people pooled there money into then there has to be something.
@ 2. actually # 1 answers my response to L.G. also, but if your not going to listen to review or bother to hear them out then the gamble is on you.

, you know what? I ended up seeing the movie twice in the same day. First for the midnight show, then in the evening with some friends. It was an epic friday.

Saw the movie earlier today. By far the best Marvel movie to date, it was really awesome and I think Downey was a perfect choice to play Tony. I loved the Punisher movie, but this was way better and a definite must see. Not to mention getting to see the awesome previews of the Dark Knight and Hulk on the big screen and not from home. (By the way, did anyone else notice Two-Face was actually shown some in the DK trailer.?)

Just a awsome movie. Comic Book movie, or not comic book movie, it was just a good funny movie. One of the most fun movies I have seen in theaters in a long time. Iron Man is a movie I can't wait to get on DVD. Spider-Man 2 is the only other film that made me feel the same way . As to which one is better....I am not sure, I love both films. However to state it is one of the best comic book movies ever, that isn't a over exaggeration.

Just a awsome movie. Comic Book movie, or not comic book movie, it was just a good funny movie. One of the most fun movies I have seen in theaters in a long time. Iron Man is a movie I can't wait to get on DVD. Spider-Man 2 is the only other film that made me feel the same way . As to which one is better....I am not sure, I love both films. Exactly,it`s about time Marvel took hands itself in the project.
Most of the previous movies weren`t handled entirely by marvel,some of them were like "take the characters and do whatever you think will fit best"...
I think that the turning point was the bad fan reaction when spiderman 3 came out(Gwen stacy in the movie was a big WTF for most hardcore spidey fans,i didn`t see that movie yet to judge it  )
This is the kind of stuff that marvel needed to do:stick to the bases and stay true with the character and story...yes,i know that there were obvious geographic changes(too keep it up to date)but it never changed the facts at all
