Optional Jump Animations

According to those trusty files in the MUGEN docs folder, I can add three optional jump animations:

"44  opt   Jump neutral (downwards)     Activated when Y-velocity > -2
45  opt   Jump fwd (downwards)         Same as above
46  opt   Jump back (downwards)        Same as above"

What exactly do these do? Are they animations that get activated when the character is stationary mid-air (like when Peter Griffin finishes a mid-air super, he falls back to the ground afterwards)?

the first one is how the character falls down when he just plains jumps up, the second one is the animation of the character when he comes from jumping forward, and the third is the same as the other but backward.

Oh right, that simple eh? I was confused since I've assigned the entire jump animations (up and down sprites) to actions 41, 42 and 43 without MUGEN complaining in debug mode (it also seems to be a common practice among many of the characters I've looked at in Fighter Factory). However, I will probably add these optional animations just in case any characters require them for throws and whatnot.
