Unfortunately, the author has never corrected this character's hunching posture.

Notice the strange mass that exists on the back of the character, as if it were a large lump. I remember that some people had given this feedback to the author, in which I include myself and, by all accounts, he totally ignored it. For what reason, I do not know.

What worries me is, even over the years, the thought "may be bad, but at least someone did" seems to gain strength - which does not surprise me, coming from where it comes from (its just and opinion, I don't want to start anything).

The character has a lot of errors, as you can see on the images. On this image, you can see the hard dark edges, with no aliasing at all and the lack of shading on his thighs.

I think is the base they used that is the source of the problem with the back.. Taliban is like that.. I think Taliban is too small for a base for lizard but that's just me.. some resizing would had been good for this character.

I think he is already resized through coding. Looks stretchy.

that's not good because the sprites wont look good if you resize like that.. I know its easy and fast this way but don't help improve the sprites..

Nice start. I am very fond of the wolf head conversion (mouth open sprites). It is a character that needs lots of work though.

Ilu has pointed out some interesting issues in the sprites. Agreed.

not sure what the problem with having a hump is? lizard is depicted in various media, as a lizard monster/human hybrid, jon talbain has this hump as he also is that hybrid monster too, to me this base fits well, (minus the kung fu type moves)
sprites should be updated in the future, in the next round of updates, as this was a darkstalkers base, you'd notice that most of those sprites have minimal colours shading, especially on the legs, this has been pointed out previously,
regisc can look into adding more shades to the sprites, but for the moment this is where he his lizard is at

your right O, standards aren't what they used to be, but they'll never get better if we don't keep trying to improve, for those who already are great at the talents they have learnt, need to also guide those who haven't gotten there, this is where feedback is very important, and as I've noted the shading, I need feedback on these errors you mentioned, if its just aesthetics on sprites fair enough but I'm more interested in the coding aspect

(I'm not as experienced as you all but) That's a pretty impressive and very reptilian Lizard!
Somehow I like the sprites and intros.

Maybe its a language barrier, but my point wasn't his position, but the strange mass at his back. I've made a quick edit to illustrate my point:

At left, the original. At right, my revised version (look at his back). Now if you take a look at the left version, it seams that Lizard is hidding something there.

but they'll never get better if we don't keep trying to improve
Which is exactly my point, if you pay attention. We already pointed the error many time ago.

I am not a spriter myself, but I can garantee the points on the sprites are not just "aesthetics". There are some very bad issued there. About the codes, I need to try the character first.

It's great for a playable mugenized version of The Lizard but like Uncle O said. That hump has GOT to go!

good stuff Oilu...  that looks better now.. and its not much work. anyways I wanted to show something to give you guys an idea if you feel like following it. if you get rid of that black color and change it to dark green, it will help the sprites a lot. the darkstalkers and early Capcom games had this black lines but after they added more colors and stopped doing that for other games. so I did a quick fix to show you what u can do to help improve the sprites if you want to. also you can add some of the other colors to the details on the arms and I think it will look great too. the coat can use another color to help it stand out more too. I also made a little test for you, again, if you want to.. check it out..

by the way I saw that you got some of the black of the hands that's also same black as the pants, that can make it hard to make proper pals. this is why using black is bad on sprites, it gets tangled up with other blacks.. change the black in the pants to some dark purple instead.

good luck with this character and I hope you can understand the points im trying to show you here. its just me trying to help so I hope u don't take it the wrong way.. the base suits him but its too small, a little resizing can also help in a later update.  :cool

Nice release!!! Its deff the best out there than the one we had before available in Mugen!!  :w00t:

Congrats for making him! ! First time I hear about the creator Regisc. Is it his first char? If yes he did it pretty cool for a first char!! Nice sprites too!!  :cool

I agree with O Ilu and Verz constractive critism too!!

Nice gameplay and nice intro too!!

Some small feedback for a possible update:
* I agree with the comment regarding the black lines
* I dont like much that each jump attack breaks/gets interrupted
* Love to see him move a bit faster
* Maybe new effects can be used cause we see overused ones eg Wolvies claws
* I think the hyper where it transforms the opponent into lizard it can be enhanced a bit! It just freezes the opponent and u can hit him!! Maybe u can transform him and do a combo of attacks for example

In general very good release!! Thanks!!  :w00t:

BTW where is Mantis by REGISC? I wait...her from 2 years, LOL, she was very promising!

Mantis wip? Really? That sounds awesome!!  :o

Love to see a sprite of hers!! Hope its the green version of her or either her classic (not the movie one)!! :)

I see a revision for Regisc & Arkady's Lizard coming along (unless it isn't).
