Mugen Crashing and different versions of Mugen

Hi everybody.

I'm running Winmugen for Street Fighter III and have 20 characters & also about 20 stages.I've only just created an Arcade Mode and have just started playing through to test it when it then crashes roughly inbetween the 6th and 9th fight .I'm gonna do what was suggested previously and try adding each stage one at a time to see if I can work out of these are causing the crash but I'd like  to ask you if you think I need more RAM as my processor is  a Celeron(R)Dual Core with 2.00GB RAM ?
All my STAGES and  CHARS  work perfectly in Watch Mode & Training Mode but when in Arcade mode, some of them just wont play.

I also have Mugen version 1.0 but it doesnt look as nice as Winmugen.I decided to use Winmugen instead as the graphics aren't as pixelated as when playing the the same game on Mugen 1.0.I've tried reducing the screen size and the RES on Mugen 1.0 but it still looks pixelated. From what I've been reading, it looks like Mugen 1.0 is the latest version and isn't prone to crashing, do you think I should go back to Mugen 1.0 ?
And if so, how can I succeed in making Mugen 1.0 smoother looking ?

Last question [please excuse me for being a Newbie & asking lots of questions].
Can someone please set me straight and explain what the difference is between a Lo Res Mugen and  Hi Res or HD Mugen ?
Winmugen looks less pixelated than Mugen 1.0 and has filter options like Double Res, is Winmugen Hi Res ?  And where can I get a HD Mugen ?

Mugen 1.0 is completely capable of HR and HD (although nobody is doing HD yet) Using a resolution of 640x480 on 1.0 will INSTANTLY look better than winmugen simply because it makes EVERYTHING HR, not just the select screen and stages. It is more stable and missing a single feature (which you won't notice) It accepts older HR stages and accepts almost all characters made with the exception of those with faulty code.

It won't accept screenpacks but there are actually lots of these out now and you should be able to find something pretty fast.

That sounds great but I've actually tried Mugen 1.0 with the Res at 640 X 480 and it looks not quite right.
As mentioned, it is pixelated, my  Lifebars &  Time Counter don't  fit properly at all but when I put all this in to Winmugen, everything looks real nice as if it has a smooth filter on. If something has a Higher Resolution then doesn't that mean the image is supposed to look better?

I'm running Street Fighter III and it is quite an old dated game.
Could it be that my SF III stages & sprites are just crap ?

Do you have any other suggestions?
Mugen 1.0 sounds really good but maybe I've got a dodgy version .
IS there more than one kind of Mugen 1.0 ?

Hey !
I've just finsished experimenting with Mugen 1.0 and found out that if I go in the Mugen CFG FILE and make FullScreen = 0  and RenderMode = OpenGLScreen, it looks great.
Don't know why exactly but in OpenGLScreen mode where it allows screen size manipulation in real time, it seems to change the pixelation and makes the image smoother.It's also cool being allowed to customise screen size from 4:3 to 16:9 by clicking & dragging the mouse.

Looks like I'll be using Mugen 1.0 after all.

depend on the character its self some mugen character are compatible with the mugen 1.0 &1.1 but some mugen character are only compatible with just win mugen. if you get Crash from the 6 mugen character its be best to post these error so mugen coder can tell you more or else what the cause of your problem. also is best make new tread this way you can show them what be the problem with the errors your having :)
