How do I make same character appear twice in Arcade mode?

Hi everybody

I've tried inserting the same character twice in Arcade mode as I want to fight the same character more than once  againts different stages but Mugen isn't reading the CHAR the 2nd time.

To begin with, I copied Ken and added him a 2nd time to the Select Def file  Arcade mode but to appear in a different stage from the normal Ken. Mugen didn't read him the 2nd time so I changed his file name to 'Ken2" and tried again but it still wouldn't work.

I next tried downloading a completely different Ken and then added him to the Select Def file but still, Mugen would not read him.

Is there some kind of rule that prevents Mugen from allowing the same char to appear twice ?

How Can I overcome this problem ?

copy the characters folder, rename it and the def to ken2, assign ken2 in your select.def. There are other methods, this is the easiest.

But that Is what I did and it isn't working. And if I replace an existing character with Ken2 , it appeers blank on the character select screen.

What are the other ways you mentioned ?

Ah ha. I didn't rename him properly, I was only renaming the Folder name rather the the def file inside the folder.

I've gone back and renamed the character def  file  [which is inside the Ken Folder]  to Ken2 as well as the folder name and now he  appears.
