The console level list we're given is:
Green Hill Zone (Sonic the hedgehog)
Chemical Plant Zone (Sonic the hedgehog 2)
Casino Night Zone (Sonic the Hedgehog 2) (DLC)
Sky Sanctuary Zone (Sonic 3 & Knuckles)
Speed Highway (Sonic Adventure)
City Escape (Sonic Adventure 2)
Seaside Hill (Sonic Heroes)
Crisis City (Sonic the hedgehog 2006)
Spagonia: Rooftop Run (Sonic Unleashed)
Planet Wisp (Sonic Colors)

I've heard a lot of hate for this list and while I agree with a lot of the complaints, I rather like the list we're getting. Plus they technically DO fill out some of the Sonic level types:
*I always thought Chemical Plant Zone was a factory like zone.
*Seaside Hill COULD be configured to be the game's water zone. Sega never said every level would be EXACTLY like it was in the original.
*Crisis City could TECHNICALLY be called the game's fire zone (there IS a lot of fire)

Then again, I'm am an optimist when it comes to these things so what do I know.

I'm more interested in how the story's gonna handle. The guys who wrote Sonic Colors are gonna write this game and I bet it's gonna be (at the very least) hilarious since Colors is seen as one of the better written games in the series

Just played the demo and enjoyed it. Only one level though.

Then again I liked that zone too. but still bullcrap.

all the other zones are cool though.

Well it could be worse. They could have brought something from Shadow.

Also, am I the only one who thought they could have also brought in some levels from the spin-off games (Rivals series, Battle, Storybook series)?

But I think that's all remix...
like the city escape stage, I really not like the remix for Classic sonic stage :(

I would assume that since the 3DS and Console versions won't be sharing the same levels that Advance and Rush stuff with be on the 3DS version of the game.

I dunno I like the Classic rendition of City Escape, especially since they incorporated Endless Mine from S3&K

Also as far as I know, the only difference between the original City Escape and Modern Sonic's is that there are some new lyrics

Another thing I'd like to point out. I MIGHT be right about Seaside Hill being the water level or we might get a water level out of this game. Why else would they have the drowning theme in this game?

Oh BTW from what I hear they're 5 acts in each zones, two for each Sonic (one main act and one side act) and a boss.

What I'd love to see if their are two bosses for each zone, one for Classic and one for Modern. For example for Green Hill, Classic could be that "iconic" ball on a chain boss and maybe Modern Sonic's could be a souped up variation of the first boss in Sonic 2. I know that would be pretty weird to have a Sonic 2 boss in Green Hill Zone but hey, Emerald Hill is basically Green Hill but with different shades of green, ain't it?

Although feeling some disappointment is normal, I don't see why people would get uptight, about levels as long as it's fun to play.  I do have my favorite levels, but at this point i just want to play a Sonic game that fees like what the new MK feels like to it's predecessors.

Played the demo not bad, it seems like between this and Sonic 4 they're trying more to mimic what the first Sonic the Hedgehog 1 rather than build off of where Sonic3/S&K left off. Not being negative just a sort of neutral observation.

Also I still don't see why Tails and Knuckles have to suffer because people don't like all the other characters lol

I grew up with classic Sonic just like alot of people but I don't see what is up with this obseession with his appearance, granted some modern Sonic appearance don't look that great but df not bad (personally prefr the way Archie Comics draw Sonic)... just seems like alot of hooplah over nothing, not to mention folks are complaining that classic sonic hass buckles on his shoes

Anyways like I said, I'm more interested in seeing how the cutscenes are handled. I hope we can see one soon

Is your guys' memory a little weak on the old Chemical Plant Zone?

It'd be funny if in the cutscenes old Sonic could only move in X and Y Axis, and couldn't move in and out. :D

Seeing as he can't speak I'm sure he'll have the best facial expressions.

Although I'm kinda hoping at the end of the game when Modern Sonic and friends return to their time, Classic Sonic says one line and it's Jalee White saying something like "You're too cool, hedgehog" or something

I think the game is a nice twist to what they have been doing... Although I am ALSO waiting for Sonic 4: Episode 2!!! I still will get this one if they fix the running blur. I literally had to stop every 5 seconds the best i could to hit something. Too much blur when he's running.
