Mugen end all be all
« on: June 04, 2011, 02:15:15 AM »
Why did I trade in MvC 3 for store credit? Simple answer MUGEN! After MvC 2 I dreamed of being able to make my own fighting game or tweaking existing chars how I want. Mugen lets me do just that or really anything I can dream up. Plus it tickles the art side of me to create. I'll admit I was fully pumped to play MvC3 but after years of Mugen experience this new game seemed boring. Not to mention the combos where rediculous with there never ending strings. Mugen is it for me & i'll never look forward. It's a dream come true. @-)

Even though I have NOT played MVC3 yet (sacrilige, I know), I completely agree.  ^^(PM)^ MUGEN, in my opinion, is one of the best passtimes in the digital era. I mean, what better way to have a hobby than to create a fighting game? An amazing number of those "what ifs" of the past can be answered with this amazing engine when you can face Homer Simpson against Ryu, Marvin the Martian against Wolverine, etc. I love mugen and I always will!

Mugen ive never had so much fun with a 2D fighter ive been play fighting games as far back as 7 around the time streetfighter 2 and mortal kombat and as for MVC3 they have done nothing with it it was put out and thats it and the characters are good but in the end mugen I can do what ever i want in if a cartoon, new fighting game, anime,or really anything me or somone else can just make them no tradmark bs in the end.

Since finding MUGEN many many years ago i am still to this day hooked on it. there is always someone creating something.  Mugen is a great way to show off your already know how, relearn it all,  learn a new trade and even meet fellow people who you can call friends. With the rush of new games coming on the scene , mugen will still be here. Its fun , its an experience and it gives you that satisfaction that you yourself created something. i am still gettin mmy own feet wet doing 2 projects but its alot of work but fun and well worth it. Mugen is a driving force and pays alot of homage to those companies characters, stages , music , etc and the people doing the work on these characters show and still keep showing that Mugen is so versatile that it can rival the 2d VG stuff and in other areas surpass. Its a Fans wet dream come true. I love mugen and even when i do one day leave the community i will still be playing Mugen and hope to keep these really good friendships i have made cause friends are def forever. Mugen will keep on trucking and keep on gettin better and better.

It's ruined me really - Unless game makers can figure out a new style of gameplay ussing 3D like they did with Battlestone - Most of the 3D fighters are ussing the 2D formula - The 3D characters in MvC3 look nice but I prefer the handdrawn look - Plus if MvC3 where on the computer then we would rip those chars & place them in Mugen & rework'em - Only thing Mugen lacks is online play so I still play the other fighters for that feature @-)
