My revamped return of Original Characters

Way back when I had a topic set up based around some original characters I had been working on for hopefully a mugen Project, well I got irritated at the sprites as most self critical artists do and completely revamped them. I'll show the comparisons og the before and after

I like the high res look because it actually is my own art style rather than a sprite edit, comments and critiques are always welcome!

these are actually very good , especially ya got them in hi res. i like them better that way. i too am trying to get my avatar guy in the whole creation mode but i just dont have the time to commit to him just yet.  but these are good.  i want mines to be hi res as well but from what i have read on doing it , it can be a very tedious chore .  i think your top character is acually better drawn then the bottom but the last one actually has some good motioning effects.  should def combo the 2 together. I am much more a fan of original and anime characters being made for mugen ( especially done in hi res and original movesets) then 12 ryus and 14, kens, 11 guiles, 6 zangeifs and so on and so on.  Keep on doing what ya doing and always improving on your intial creations until you get them as close to perfection as you desire them to be.

Hey man thanks for the kind words ^^ Just keep on practicing, that's what I do.  Also I fully agree with the lack of original characters on mugen, we don't need any more Omega God Ultramix Orichi Ryu's or Super Shin Mega Unlimited Violent Akuma's we need more original characters!

no problem man, i just enjoy seeing fellow mugenites trying to do they thang. i totally agree with we NEED more original mugen characters instead of just swaps all the time. yeah fighting ULTIMATE GOD SHIN SHIN MEGA NEGA HULK AKUMA'S and GOD LEVEL MAX KEN 11 is really getting boring. lol I say with all these new ways to implement mugen characters then its time to take em high res for a change and show these big name companies that mugen is a movement and not just a fad. if you enjoy and are passionate about what you do in your spare time then why not go all out? like i said tho , hi res is a very tedious thing to for take on  but if you got time and dedication then you can make ya character really be out on the forefront.  heck they can even throw in marvel peeps but use some folks that are not getting any real attention. like how many wolverine versions do we need? unless you changing up entire gameplay and movesets are new and really creative then i am not as interested as i would be in a good quality created original. Like ubu, ella, jnxc, kuando, drowin and others. The original type creators really get a huge standing ovation from me cause alot of thought goes into their characters . i mean this is freekin MUGEN! lol Lets show off the huge creative juices and no clone rehashes. we got plenty of comic and anime sources to use as well as our own imaginations.  Now i have tried out some originals that just sucked  and there are alot out there. i think they were just rushed out just to say they made something. but long as they get updated and or if you like them just the way they are then its all good. MUGEN isnt a perfect world and and the community is sometimes united and divided in their creativity and originality but i say at least we all wanna show we got some skills and yours is blossoming my firend.  :thumbsup:

ps i wanna say too i give propz to ALL mugen creators cause there are alot of people who can only dream of doing what they do wether it be art, sprite, coding , whatever. and all mugen characters are giving thought ino , just some more than others. but Mugen rules!

I admire that artists talent and ideas. It makes you think outside the box on creating.

nah not with that char u see per say. But how u designed him with the "shin pads" and "arm guards". It makes me think of the wrestler from that game and the last master Jado. if u are familiar with that game youll see what i mean. Its not a bad thing though. eh its cool on the retro tip

Haha well alright then, I've never played the game honestly but if It gives someone a bit of nostalgia then that's cool with me

hey when you start getting into the animating ya characers tho, try to make the motions as fluid as possible. stiff characers only work when done in a very very imaginative way and are still having some way a fluid motion but not to a per say GGX or blaz blue type. remember make it fluid, good control scheme and in your own creative way that if you do share you work they will be approachable & playable characters.
