tearing sprites

does anyone know how to tear sprites form a SNES emulator  :-?? because i cant find any program that helps me :-$

The hardest way would be to use the F# keys to remove the layers you dont want, and then take a screen shot (make sure its saves as a .gif and not a jpg) and then clean it up by erasing the background.

There are programs designed to make this easyer, but I think they are game spicific, like theres one i hear that can rip all the animations from Link to the past... but i dont know for sure..
