if you mean by a stage.

make use your music is in the sound folder in mugen.

now go to your song right click-->rename-->copy the name of the song.

now that you copyed the name go to stages-->your stage .def file, and open it.

look for this line:
[Music]

and you should see this below it:
bgmusic = sound/

on you paste the name of the song like this:
bgmusic = sound/(music filename here).mp3   

remember to put the format like .mp3 at the end!
and that should be it.
