mugen only loads 4 characters

so this has been happening on mugen 1.0 and mugen 1.1 where I would add characters then go to the data and add them although i just got mugen so i added 9 characters ((the first 2 replace kfm)) and only the first 4 show up on my roster and my characters work on all versions can someone please help i am frustrated

Is this your first time really messing with mugen?


two things you have to make sure is happening right

1) the characters folder name has to be the same as its def file in the characters folder. that stuff is case sensitive too so make sure its the same name entirely

2) Make sure after you unzip the character to get to its folder file make sure its not a folder within a folder. Example: make sure when you see a Ryu folder that when you click to see inside it isnt another Ryu folder. If you do then that second ryu folder you must use. use the one with all the parts inside. when you just have one character folder with just all its parts inside then mugen will read the character on the screen.

That sounds more like screenpack to me. Without needing heaps of effort. Go into mugen.cfg and change the motif to big from whatever it is. Gives you extras without needing to start editing system.def.

Pretty sure the default pack gives you 8 characters total, swapping to big isn't a bad idea regardless.
