Street Fighter series producer Yoshinori Ono said that there is no current plans for a new Darkstalkers / Vampire game, due to lackluster sales of Darkstalkers Resurrection. "Darkstalkers Resurrection did not perform as well as we would have liked to perform. You never know what the future may hold, but Street Fighter is definitely not dead."




...the game of course more than likely didnt do well because a lot of fans already have it on pc emulator. Street fighter will always be the TOP fav along side MVC. i would have just taken a chance anyway. Got the old cast with some new monsters and characters on a brand new engine and just wilded out creating it. Even throw in Red Arremer this time and some other new faces....
New and old fans would have ate that sh*t up!

you cant keep trying to bank on old games doing well especially if theres nothing ENTIRELY new about it. thats just my two cents on it. i didnt care for that Resurrection but i was damn share game as hell to play an ALL NEW game

It was in Top 10 PSN sales for quite a while. It's just that PSN titles don't sell THAT high.

Thats a part of the reason. but its a very old game. it was never as popular as street fighter or MVC series. it was a good game but lets face it those two series always outshined capcoms other fighters always. Im just saying for that particular series if Ono wanted more of an impact he should just went with an all out new game like said he was going to do before once SF4 hit its mark. And yes i agree for some retarded damn reason they put all their eggs in one basket which was foolish..but oh well..

They should have just took a chance on a new build. for all that they should have just ran with the CVS series in HD online....

that would have generated Capcom & SNK fans all over again to buy that game. way too many people still want that CVS3

Yeh man. not all games can get away with that same old re hash and nothingnew at all about it. only certain games can pull that off especially if they were not that popular way back. its a serious hit or miss there. certain games are a definite win though. *COUGH COUGH CVS*

but as far as a whole entire new look. some old games just need to go that route off the bat for a swift come back. NEW Strider looks damn good. Killer instinct looks cool but eh we will see how that turns out entirely in the end. i still wish they give (snes) DEMONS CREST an HD remix face lift like they did that hard @ss Ultimate ghosts n goblins for the psp....loved and hated that game ()

The new KI looks like it'll be awesome. The same company is doing the new Strider, so I'm holding on to hope that they'll pick up Darkstalkers after KI and Strider, but I'm not holding my breath for it.

Well judging from the gameplay of Strider, I wouldn't say it's a flawed wish. Strider DOES look pretty nice from the two trailers we have of it
