Besides Marvel vs Capcom 3, i thought the rivalry was always between Akuma and Wolverine considering the old games especially in the ending of one of them where Akuma and Wolverine have an ultimate showdown of ultimate destiny.
I read about that somewhere.. Not sure where i found the info, though. It was probably on wikipedia.

Yes,that is true. but i'm talking about the rivalry between Cyclops and Ryu, Both have the ability to shoot energy beams, and both characters are very smart when it comes to fighting their enemies. They do have their own limits like any other human can have. And they do have dark and tragic moments in their lives. Like Cyclops's wife, Jean Grey, dying in his arms, and Ryu losing control to the dark energies that Akuma uses.
