Hi-res Mugen troubles
« on: June 09, 2010, 07:41:21 AM »
Here's the problem:

If I set the resolution any higher than 640X480, the whole screen will not be displayed properly. The bottom and the sides of the screen become cropped. This is horribly annoying.

I've played around with OpenGL, Full screen and the Windowed options. However, NOTHING shows the full screen other than 640x480. This effectively neuters my Hi-res enjoyment, and even though I have a nice 1080p HDTV I use as a monitor, It may as well be a 13 inch standard TV when it comes to Mugen.

Please help me...

Anyone who knows how to view the full screen in higher resolution modes, please show me the way.

Thank you

The problem is that the screen pack itself would need to be adjusted to match certain resolutions, you should probably set it back to the previous setting ,then just press "Alt, Enter" top make the game full screen.

Tried that, but it still is cropping the screen.
Might it be because older stages are just not set to function properly in higher resolution? it's weird, because when I use MAME or WinKawaks, they display older stages just fine in a higher resolution.

Whatever the case may be, it really sucks: I either play in a nice resolution with a bunch of the stage image cropped, play at a crappy resolution (full screen) that looks incredibly blurry, or I play in a teeny weeny, little window where everything looks great except for the fact that it's ridiculously small.

Surely, there has to be some way to solve this problem.
It can't be that hard to just stretch the image to fit the screen without cropping it.

You need to add an extra line of code to your old stages, that is one of the things that has to be updated when you port your stuff to the new mugen.

Well, you've got my spirits up now. Thanks  8)

Do you know what the line is and where I would add it?
