Internet Explorer 8 [for I.E. users only]

That's right. Internet Explorer 8 has its first release as a RC1 release... basically what this means is that they are not 100% done with it... but getting VERY CLOSE...

I like the add-ons, and especially the new youtube downloader add-on.

Please share your comments about it... compare and contrast IE8 from IE7, if you want...

Heh I havent used it even tho I have it. I just downloaded it to fix my mcafee security suite. IE will and always  will be a POS. Firefox is way better by far.

yeah I use both firefox at home and explorer at work and firefox is faster and just easier....

It did manage to fix my Mcafee security.
I'm still using Firefox though.

Anyway, I use IE from time to time, but I haven't upgraded to IE8 yet. Is the beta worth DL'ing as of now?

Faster, safer, more customizable, and I like the minimal look to it. Just see the cnet video of the browser wars.

This IE vs. FF is like the current-gen console wars. People just prefer one over the other. There is no true difference from what I can tell. Both go online, and I never had a problem with IE, so I'm not switching any time soon.

Anyways, once they fully update the browser I will update, but for now i'm content with IE7.

there is a clear difference on the way ie is coded, it is by far one of the worst browsers, not sticking to rules, and doing messed up coding in which many website have to make some changes just for the websites to be properly shown on ie

Yes. The beta is basically a 80% - 90% completed version of it... well worth the DL.. There's also a function of compatibility view to view older websites. There's also quite a few add-ons like the youtube video downloader.
