Are those your bars TDZ?
Because, I've finished checking them out, and it looks to me like they were made by someone who obviously didn't know what he was doing or they're just AREN'T finished
I say this, not only because they are lacking the portrait code, sprites, etc (yes that thing TDZ wants to get rid of, only holds the name of the character, not the portrait)... but also because they're missing sprites and coding in general,... simul bar, turns bar....you name it!
Anyway, if you want to get rid of those things you're going to have to edit the following sprites which are inside the "fight.sff":
11, 0
11, 1
You can do it in irfanview after extracting the pcx from the fight.sff by covering the box at the bottom of the bars with colour 0 which in this case is the dark green.
And if I may also suggest deleting groups 14 and 15, because if you edit out those boxes in the sprites, well there wouldn't be any use for groups 14 and 15!
