Thanks.   :)

At the moment I am just starting on the basics, so it's going to be quite a while before that's done.
Crashman will keep me busy for the next six months or so.  This is sure better then screaming at World of Warcraft.  Thank god I don't play that crap anymore.   ;*))  That's how I ended up starting Metalman in the first place too.   ;D

If it turns out anything like Metalman, with your idea's, this will be a quality character that will definitely turn heads and cement you as a premier Megaman robot creator.

laspacho is done SPRITING Metalman and I am coding and incorporating the rest of him and whatever other ideas laspacho thinks of before he finally uploads Metalman for beta testing to whoever he has chosen to select for Metalman beta testing. So really, no Metalman is not done yet.  :|

Most excellent. I had hoped this would be your next project. Thankfully, it seems you went with Crashman.

With this character's WIP status, another awesome Megaman robot joins the arena that is MUGEN. I look forward to seeing what you have in mind for him.

Yes, this is what I have been working on since finished spriting Metalman.  I'm pretty much out of ideas for Metalman for the moment anyways.  The latest thing that was added was a move that ChAoTiC made.  But you will just have to wait for his release to see that one.   :D
Originally Crashman was going to just be a striker.  While I was designing him and looking at sprites from other games for ideas to create him I began to get some cool ideas for him.  I also enjoyed making him the first time I thought he deserved to be my next wip.  And a particular other robot I was thinking of went to the back burner.  I haven't come up with everything yet for Crashman but there is quite a few moves and things I want to do already.  Once I get that far.  I'm trying to take it (sort of?)  slow until next year.  I just had to kick it up a notch to finish spriting Metalman in time for the project.   :w00t:
Glad you all like what I have done for Crashman so far.

Mabie you could put Bubble Man as a striker...
He could come in and use his lame power, but could also be used to help take hits.
I doubt anyone would take Bubble Man any farther, but it would be nice to see him.

Post by: Magma MK-II on December 04, 2007, 06:21:20 PM
I don't think he need strikers!

He could have a move like Grenademan, in which he jumps to the opposit corner and throws various mines!

You know I was thinking about a striker today.  I'm not sure if I am going to bother with it this time.  Although now that you mention Bubbleman I think of him flapping around on the ground like a fish out of water.  :D

Crashman is one of my fave mega chars. I'm sooo glad your making him. I hope his crash bombs cling to everything(ceiling, floor, walls, opponent).

Here's a quick idea ONE HUGE CRASH BOMB(super maybe).

Or just think, if mega man x aquired this power and could charge it after getting his arm upgrade...
What would it do?

Medium Kick  (I can't seem to get the back of the head right so I just left it red for the moment...)

Hard Kick and launcher.  (Megaman's medium kick)

Maybe I'll work on the Hard Punch next...  I want to give him a real hard punch instead of just a projectile attack like Megaman and Metalman have.

I like them, but knowing your spriting talent now, I say change the kicks up some and give them that edited look. The kicks are too similar to some of the other MvC edited characters. Look at my Iceman and you will see I changed up all 3 of his kicks and gave him all edited ones.  A tad bit more work, I know, but worth it in the end to the regular Megaman fan. %%-

mambojambo is real good with custom looking moves. PM him and he will surely help you if you lack ideas.

Since he uses explosives, he could grab the foe and explode him like Iori Yagami does in his special! Or perhaps like Dan does in his fake Raging Demon?

I was thinking something along the lines of Dan's Fake raging demon where he grabs and does the explosion and shots himself backwards after the explosion.  I'm not much of a fan of the SNK games but I just looked at some Iori video's and that would be a cool idea too.  I'll see what I come up with for it for a hyper when it's time.  Thanks for the suggestion, I never would have looked at Iori.

Ok, here's my last pics of Crashman I am going to show for the year.  I didn't think I was going to get as much done as I did before the year was out...
So Enjoy and Happy New Years.  Catch you next year, I'll be off drinking until the new year starts.    :) :D :w00t:

I posted these in the The eternally required "SCREENSHOT THREAD!!!" if you missed it...  Scar posted pics of his spawn so I wanted to post something too lol.  About creating Airman, I figured no one has tried to make one of the robot masters yet that are of bigger size like that so I figured what the heck I'll try.  It's different to try and sprite and much easier in a lot ways but a pain in other ways...  This is something different to sprite when I don't feel like spriting Crashman, but I feel like spriting something different.  Crashman IS in the pic so I can post this here too...   :D

Enjoy.

Maybe I'll work on the Hard Punch next...  I want to give him a real hard punch instead of just a projectile attack like Megaman and Metalman have.

Perhaps have him leaning forward and thrusting out both drills at once, such as Sagat does during his projectile move (same for crouch).

Here's the move I'm talking about:

I was never asked by anyone on the MVC3 team.  If they would like to use my character for their project all they need to do is ask.   ;D

Yes, Crashman will have a Hard punch instead of just a projectile.  It looks sort of like Sagat's positioning I suppose.  I have it done already.   ;D  I'm just not posting it because it looks sort of stupid without the correct coding and effects.
The way I am going with the Hard punch is doing 2 hits, and an explosion effect as if his bombs exploded on impact, or something along those lines...
Thanks for the suggestion though.   ;D

Once Crashman is finished I am sure he will make it into the release two of EOH.  (Not the upcoming bug fix release of EOH.)

Right now I am trying to come up with a ducking medium kick and a ducking hard kick...  I'm thinking...  I would rather not re-use the standing medium kick for the ducking medium kick.  I'll see what I come up with...

I actually had some time tonight and worked more on the air attacks.  Only the air hard punch to go.  Then two ducking attacks. I also need to add the yellow on the top of his boots to a bunch of frames as you can see on the air hard kick.  :)
I'll probably start doing hit frames soon I think.   ;D

Otherwise all the other basic punches and kicks are done with the exception of the yellow on the boots on some sprites.   ;D

maybe lightning just an idea   :|

use that iron man move, but have both of his arms touching the ground, drills in the floor.

I finally went through Super Adventure Rockman, and apparently the sounds under the Common File are also under everyone's sound file, including Crashman.  Here's the sounds shared by every boss:

Wow I didn't realize I didn't finish the legs in so many sprites, I went back and finished them all, damn that took a while.   :D  The ducking hard kick is next, then I'm on to the get hits and knock backs so I can start showing random screen shots.   ;D

Yes Crashman is a punching bag now.  :P
Here is the rundown of what I have gotten done so far:
I have 11 out of 12 basic attacks done (no ducking hard kick I can't seem to do anything I like as of yet), getting hit, all hit backs, dashes, running, rolling, getting up, and one winpose and one custom entrance done (Not counting Teleporting in).  Hmm, all the blocks are done except for the yellow on the top of the boots on all of them.
I would LOVE to make a video but that would just be mean since I haven't made one yet for Metalman.  Once Metalman hits beta testing I'll show a video of him, then maybe shortly there after I can make one for Crashman.

Somehow these pics didn't show up when I made my last post.   :DxDie

At the moment Airman has enough done to be a striker for Crashman, if I decide to give him a striker.  I may not bother with a striker for him though, we will see.

Been busy with Metalman again lately.  However, all of Crashman's 12 basic attacks are done now, two intros, three winposes.  Knock backs, ect.  All basics are completely done.  Need to finish off the taunt though.
I am working on specials and hypers now.  Crashman is going to borrow a Drillman move I think...   ;D

Hey, man, what version of Tron do you have there? One of the primary problems I have with the versions I've seen to date (aside from the egregious crime of not making use of her English-language voice actor) is the absense of her Servebots. If you've got one which includes them, then I require it for my continued happiness.

On-Topic: So, you've got Crashman ready to talk, huh? I can't wait to hear what he sounds like! What an exciting idea!  8-}

A Robot Master without Mega-Man as the base.!? That's mad I tell you, mad.!!! :D Hm.. Let's see, if you're keeping it to the original Mega-Man bosses, there's only a hand full of them that look real different. Centaur Man's being done, and I don't know if you're going with anyone from part 7 or 8 (since you guys seem to be keeping to the NES days). So, I'm thinking Napalm Man or Stone Man, perhaps.

I got stuck with Crashman recently.  All that is left to do with his sprites is a throw, one special, and one hyper.   ;D

The throw is done.  Only a 1 hyper and 1 special left to sprite.   ~X( :-j

Crashman will flip P2 over his back.  ;D

Hey, Laspacho, any chance you could send me the character as he presently exists? I'd love to see if there's any new ideas for voice work which might occur to me when I see how he actually plays.

Sure, the man who IS Crashman's voice needs to have a copy.  As soon as soon some things get coded I would be happy to send you a copy your way.  At the moment none of the Specials or Hypers are coded so even I have yet to see lots of my work in game yet.  Once I finish the final special it is up to my buddy/partner Excursion to start coding at his leisure when he gets some time.   ;D
I also finished Crashman's final hyper last night too.  Only one more special to do and I will finally be done spriting him.  :)

Cool.  You will be the first to get to play around with him and test him out beyond the team when Crashman is somewhat coded.
Hehe you though up some great stuff the first time.

Cool throw!

Thanks Mambo, and you will be the second to play around with Crashman.  I can't thank you enough for the help you gave me, I learned alot.  I wish I could show off that hyper you helped me with, it looks so darn cool, I just don't like posting lots of straight up of sprites on forums that often.   ;D

And eh a random pic, this will be the last of the pics until its Crashman is coded and I start showing hypers and specials, ect.

I always pictured Frostman with six punches and no kicks like Balrog....

Eventually I will start showing animated pics of Crashman like I did with Metalman.  As soon as some stuff is coded I will start showing animated pics.

Well, at least you're honest about it.

So Laspacho, is Crashman gonna be part of the XR project too, and if so, will you have to rework the sff file like ChAoTiC is doing for his current characters?

Hmm some posts are missing from the forum troubles I guess.  Yes Crashman will be in the XR project also.  ChAoTiC I believe will eventually modify the characters to match the game before the games release.

keep it up bro were rooting for ya  :) :)

Thanks.

There was another previous post that is missing and I answered it something like this...
I would put Crashman at maybe 97% complete sprites?  Everything sprite wise is done except for one special I was trying to make.  Excursion  is currently coding in his free time and has my full permission to program however he wishes and do whatever works best for the character.  He can also make something new or modify whatever if he wishes and I am willing to sprite something new or modify something if it is needed.   ;D

Sooner or later more stuff will be shown once coded.  It will be fun.  Catch everyone later.   ;D

Cool tunes I never heard those before.     I'll have to use them in future videos.

This move does a little more then the Crashman helper.  That move just shot bombs diagonal down.  This move does forward and diagonal down, doing more of a spread of bombs.

To compare:

Crashman will not be his striker anymore, he graduated to being a full character.  Honestly Metalman can hold his own he doesn't need a striker anyway.

From the CD's in Megaman and Bass:
Crashman was built by Dr. Wily to withstand explosions. He has high agility and enhanced armor (his body is protected with a thick armor) allowing him use of his main weapon, A drill-type bomb called the Crash Bomber. He appears to be an enhanced version of Bombman.

Mambo is a great person (and a great friend of mine too) :)

Loved the new hyper....but change the explosion. It doesn't fits the character.

Here's the straight shot Crashbomb. The Bomb sticks to P2 or if it misses it will stick to the wall behind him, then blow up.

Almost done with the crashman and airman.

Crashman just needs some more voices and sounds to be added.  Then his final hyper needs to be added and then he is done.
Airman is completely sprited and just needs to be coded.
Hopefully Excursion will have time to finish them up soon.   ;D

O o o o, Chiming in here...

I'd recomend changing his launcher to standing HK as it's rather difficult to try to chain crouching HK, plus Crouching HK looks more like a knock away move anyways.

very impressive! I think i may like Crash more so than Metalman.

(Its probably just me be he looks a bit undersized compared to the rest of the bots and his arms seem short.)

heeh, nice move where he goes underground.

but there is something I don't like in him: that hyper where he throws a single missile needs to be worked more. If the first attack is blocked, he continues to do the move, while p2 can simply jumps behind him.

That is the last remaining thing that needs to be changed before his release.  I don't want the missile to come out if it is blocked.  :)

Great work, Lapspacho. :)
The voice work is perfect, and I like all of the hypers. My favorite would have to be the shoulder missiles. Can't wait for him, Airman, Fireman, and the slightly forgotten Shademan.. :P

Also, are those MM2 styled stages going to be released soon? They look awesome as well.
